Are you tired of armies that nickel and dime your characters out of their health totals? Has Prophet Velen’s crit got you down? Is Holy Nova a problem? How about Corruption, Curse of Agony, Shadow Word: Pain, Demonic Curse, Furnace, Sulfuras Hand of Ragnaros, Lacerate, Moonfire, Serpent Sting, Earth Shock, Kick, Mortal Strike, Curse of Culuthas, Death Coil, Harvest Flesh, Death Blow, Cairne’s Thunderclap, or Static Charge? (And the other’s I’m forgetting).

Any of them a bother?

How about a crafting card for your tank that can put some serious kibosh on ’em!

Well then, today’s preview might be something you are interested in—a way to avoid being nickel and dimed to death.

I know what you’re thinking, and no, flashy golden belt buckles the size of Texas are not back in fashion. Period. Sport this on your person to the local game store, and I promise you, you won’t win any awards. But we aren’t talking fashion. We’re talking damage prevention.

The most obvious use of this card is against triple dotting Warlocks. Since they often want to nickel you down with Corruption and Curse of Agony before they burn you out with their regular attacks, this card will be handy against them while simultaneously providing solid peripheral benefits against all the other above-mentioned cards.

Savin Lightguard can be a good home for this. But for my money, I like it on Illiana Sunshield. And that isn’t just because I think she’s the best Paladin in the game (she is, by the way). Oh yeah, Wilton’s not a bad place for it either.

There is no doubt that this card is sort of a magic bullet against non-attack damaging abilities, but some of those abilities are so strong that I believe this card warrants both its 2 honor cost and Action Bar slot. Right now, those cards center on Warlocks, but when players unlock the potential behind Sidian Morningblade with Bulwark and Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros, this card will also act as a decent counter.

I believe this card will have value for a long time to come because of its universally applicable power to prevent enemy non-attack damage.
