As a priest in the World of Warcraft MMO, you have the flexibility of being a great healer or damage dealer. I heal on my main, and find it a lot of fun. Every group needs a healer, and it feels good to know that your performance has a big effect on the success of the group. Sometimes, though, you just have to embrace your shadow side and melt some faces. Champion Shadowsun understands this.

If you’ve ever lost to a surprise Action Bar card from your opponent, Mana Tap is your new best friend. For just 2 ticks, you can prevent your opponent from using one of their cards for the rest of the round. Granted, they do get to choose which card to exhaust, but it’s not too hard to catch someone with only one ready card. Also, every Blood Elf in your party gets to use this ability! If you’ve got someone who isn’t going to be productive otherwise for a few ticks, just have them Mana Tap while Shadowsun keeps attacking. Aleyah Dawnborn is happy to keep redirecting damage from your other minis even if you just Mana Tap with her every turn, and she can have a heal ready in case of emergency.

Shadowsun really wants to be in Shadowform, as can be seen from his figure. Bumping his attack to 3 ticks for 7 dice is great for a Priest, and the extra die gives him even more chance to crit for a free Mana Tap. Keep in mind that you don’t have to Mana Tap the character you attacked, so you’re free to lock down a card on anyone else within range. The extra armor also helps to keep him around longer. He won’t have the best defensive stats in the game, but he’s still pretty sturdy for a Priest. You should be able to get off a Mind Blast or two even if he’s being chased, and he might have a trick or two up his sleeve to keep enemies from getting close in the first place.

The best use for Shadowsun is probably going to be pairing him up with a couple of his Blood Elf buddies and locking down the opposing action bar. Once they’re out of options, you can go to town with your army. Just watch out for Irana and recharge cards, and you’ll find out how useful a shadow Priest can be to your team.
