What is a TCG?
TCG is an acronym for
Trading Card Game. In a TCG, players collect
cards and build their own decks to play against each other. Each deck has its own
strategy, which is shaped by the cards a player chooses to include in his or her
personal deck.
Why a World of Warcraft
TCG?

World of Warcraft (WoW) is the most popular massively multiplayer online role-playing
game (or MMO) in the world. We translated that universe to the card table, and we’re
confident that hardcore MMO players and TCG veterans alike won’t be disappointed.
We’ve done our best to stay true to the MMO in design, so in the TCG, players will
find that Paladins are still hard to kill and Shamans still have powers relating
to damage, healing, and Totems. Many aspects of the TCG’s strategy will be familiar
to players of the MMO.
Additionally, by playing the TCG, you can get exclusive items in the online game!
(See details below about Loot cards and the UDE Points program.)
I've played TCGs in the past, but I quit for one reason or another. Is this game
for me?

Absolutely. The evolutionary game engine of the WoW TCG plays very smoothly and
is easy to pick up and enjoy. We spent a lot of time maximizing the fun aspects
of TCGs and cutting out the frustrating and clunky elements, such as unnecessary
phases and not drawing your resources. The result is a game that is easy to understand,
yet fun and challenging to play.
How do I get started?

To learn the game, check out our
How to Play section. This page features an
online demo, which teaches the basics of the game right
away. After you read the rulebook, download and print out the demo decks to play
your first WoW TCG games! The next step is to go straight to your local hobby store
to pick up a starter and some boosters to begin building your own deck.
What is a Raid Deck?

A Raid Deck simulates the raids players go through in the WoW MMO. The product provides
you with everything you need to play as a major dungeon boss. The heroes in the
raiding party will need to supply their own decks. In a raid game, one player plays
as the raid boss while all other players try to take him or her down. These games
are a cooperative effort, and they're some of the most fun you'll have playing a
TCG.
What is a treasure
pack?

Each Raid Deck comes with one treasure pack. These packs draw from a pool of exclusive
foil cards that can’t be found in regular booster pack or Starter Deck products.
Loot cards are randomly inserted into these packs with greater frequency than in
boosters from booster set releases.
Are treasure pack
cards legal for tournament play?

Yes
I want to get some
of the cards exclusive to treasure packs, but I didn't buy a Raid Deck. Will I have
a second chance to buy them?

Yes. An alternate Tournament Edition version of the treasure packs is available
through Organized Play and the UDE Points Store. These packs contain the same cards,
but they are non-foil. Additionally, Loot cards are not included in Tournament Edition
treasure packs.
How often will new
WoW TCG products be released?

Our plan is to have about three WoW TCG booster sets and two to three Raid Deck–style
releases per year. There will be plenty of new cards available to keep both tournament
and casual environments fresh.
Loot Cards
What are Loot cards?

We pick three rare cards in each set release and make a version of each with a scratch-off
code. If you’re lucky enough to find one, you can redeem the code for an exclusive
cosmetic upgrade for your WoW MMO character!
What rarity are
Loot cards?

Loot cards are legendary.
How do the Loot
cards work?

Loot cards are special versions of cards in booster packs, Starter Decks, and Raid
Decks. Each one has a unique code and a website address where you can redeem it.
When you enter this code into the website, you get a unique in-game item for the
World of Warcraft MMO. To learn more about how to redeem Loot cards, visit
www.WoWTCG.com/loot.
What unique in-game
items can I get from WoW TCG Loot cards?

Each booster set release has a unique set of Loot cards. See below for a full summary
of Loot cards from each set.
UDE Points
How does the UDE
Points program work?

Each WoW TCG booster pack includes a UDE Points code. These codes are worth 100
points each. You log into your account at
www.ude.com/points and register these codes to accumulate
points.
How do I redeem
UDE points?

TLog into your account at
www.ude.com/points to redeem the points you’ve accumulated. Different items
will have different values.
Will WoW MMO in-game
items be available through the UDE Points program?

Yes.
Can I enter the
in-game codes I purchase from the UDE Points Store into Landro Longshot?

The in-game codes you purchase from the UDE Points Store must be redeemed in the
same fashion as Loot card codes. Instructions can be found at
www.WoWTCG.com/loot.
These UDE Points rewards will be available for at least a year, so you can earn
them over time.
Are these items
active for an account or one specific character?

Items are assigned to one specific character.
Can I redeem my
UDE points for the Loot card items?

No, those items are exclusive to Loot cards. Similarly, the in-game items earned
through the UDE Points program (the frost tabard, fireworks trinket, and ogre trinket)
are not available through Loot cards. The two programs are separate.
Do all UDE Points
items require me to spend points?
Some items will become available once you reach a certain threshold. For example,
if you’ve accumulated a total of 50,000 points, you could be able to unlock a new
forum avatar by spending only 1 point.
Is my threshold
affected by the points I spend?
No. For these items, only your total points accumulated are tracked, regardless
of how many points you have used.
What else can I
do with my UDE points?
We will have online auctions for unique items, such as original artwork.
Will UDE points
apply toward other games?
Yes. You will be able to redeem your points for non–World of Warcraft items. We
plan to use this program for all of our games, including Vs. System.
How often will the
items in the UDE Points Store be updated?
Frequently. Expect regular updates and new items.
Will I be able to
use UDE points to obtain items that are otherwise exclusive to other programs?
Yes. Once an Organized Play promotion is over, we hope to offer the promotional
rewards through the UDE Points program to give players a second chance to get them.

Organized Play
What is Organized
Play?

Organized Play makes sure you always have opponents to face and that you can find
a game at any level. From local tournaments up through the World Championship, there
are many ways to get involved and participate in tournaments.
Additionally, Organized Play sets standards for game rules and tournament sanctioning,
ensuring that all tournaments adhere to the highest standards of play and fairness.
Which regions have
access to WoW TCG tournaments?

Organized Play is currently offered in North America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania.
What kinds of tournaments
are offered for WoW TCG?
Darkmoon Faire: This event stops in North America and Europe
throughout the year, and is a celebration of all things WoW. The Darkmoon Faire
features three days of gaming and fun, whether it’s playing the WoW TCG or entering
WoW MMO competitions on private servers. Every Darkmoon Faire features a main event
Dream Machine tournament, where the winner receives a custom, high-end computer.
Other top finishers receive exciting prizes too. Side events with prizes such as
iPods, Loot cards, and booster packs are ongoing all weekend.
Battlegrounds: This local program usually runs at hobby shops.
These tournaments provide a casual but organized place in your neighborhood to play
the WoW TCG. This program often offers exclusive Extended Art cards just for participating,
as well as additional exclusive Extended Art cards as prizes.
Marquee Events: Unlike Battlegrounds events, which run on
a daily or weekly basis, Marquee Events happen once a month at your local store.
Marquee Events are at a higher level than Battlegrounds, but they still take place
in your neighborhood store. Prizes have included items like an exclusive t-shirt
for the winner and exclusive Extended Art cards for the Top 8 finishers.
Sneak Previews: These tournaments offer you a chance to play
with a new set before it’s released. Players receive booster packs from the new
set to build decks for Sealed tournaments. Everyone who participates in the tournament
gets an exclusive Extended Art card from the new set. Prize support includes deck
boxes, playmats, and booster packs.
Release Celebrations: Just like Battlegrounds and Marquee
Events, Release Celebrations take place at your local hobby shop. These tournaments
give you a chance to play with the new set right after it’s released, and the program
provides exclusive Extended Art cards.
Regionals: Top finishers at Regional tournaments qualify for
their countries’ National Championships. The National Championships are an annual
event that feeds into the WoW TCG World Championship.
Nationals: This is where you can compete for the honor of
National Champion. You can also qualify here for Worlds! Prizes vary by region,
but some have been known to include high-end electronics and flights to the World
Championship.
World Championship: This is the big one. In 2007, the winner
walked away with $100,000 cash, and cash prizes were paid out down to $1,000 for
100th place.
Are side decks allowed
in tournaments?

In some Constructed tournament formats, a ten-card side deck is allowed. In some
Limited formats, a side deck can consist of all the remaining cards not used in
a player’s main deck. In other tournament formats, a side deck is not used.
Is there a judge
certification program for this game?

Yes. You can take a judge test by clicking
here.
How does the Honor
Ranking system work?

A player gains honor through his or her participation and success in tournaments.
These points provide rewards, such as qualification for major tournaments and exclusive
WoW TCG materials in the mail.
