Realm Qualifier tournaments will qualify players for their Realm Championship on May 16-17, 2009. Each event will offer players the chance to earn a spot in the Realm Championship for the Realm in which they qualified. In addition to the main event, each Realm Qualifier will host Booster Draft Challenges as often as there are enough people to run a Draft!

 

Realms are organized as follows. Players do not need to live in the Realm they qualify in, but must play in the corresponding Realm Championship that they qualify for.

Realm Qualifiers

 

Entry: $10 for Constructed and $30 for Sealed Pack in United States. $15 for Constructed and $35 for Sealed Pack in Canada. Players in other regions should check with their local tournament organizers.

 

Format: Events held from January 1 to March 31 will be Constructed Format. From April 1 to May 10, the events will switch to a Sealed Pack format will use three packs of Drums of War and three packs of Blood of the Gladiators.
 
The tournament will have Swiss rounds based on the number of players in the tournament, according to UDE Tournament Policy. All matches are best two-of-three. The top four uninvited finishers will earn invitations to their Realm Championship event. Players may only play in the Realm that they won the qualifier in.  These events are smaller than previous Realm Qualifiers and as a result, there will be more events per Realm.

Booster Draft Challenge

 

Entry: $15 in United States and Canada, players in other regions should check with their Tournament Organizer.

 

At every Realm Qualifier event, Booster Draft Challenges will also be going on for the duration of the event. When eight players sign up for a Draft, the event will begin. New tournaments will be happening throughout the day, as often as there are enough players to run one.

 

Players will Draft using three packs of Drums of War, after which they will play three rounds of single elimination, using best two-of-three matches.
