Continuing on the success of last year’s chase for Hero of the Year, this year’s chase is going to be more competitive. The chase will be bookended by World Championships, so the 2009 and 2010 World Championships and every qualifying tournament in between will contribute to a player’s point total.
Points Accumulation
There are five tiers of tournaments based on their expected level of competition. Top finishers in each tournament earn points based on the tier of the event. One week prior to the World Championship, players will be credited with additional points based on their lifetime honor ranks at a 1:1 ratio (so, if you’re Lifetime Honor Rank 7, you’ll get seven points). At the end of the 2009 World Championship, we’ll add up all the tournaments and announce the winners.
