World of Warcraft TCG Organized Play Tournaments

Continental Qualifier tournaments will qualify players for the 2009 North American Continental Championship at GenCon Indianapolis on August 13-16, 2009. In addition to the main event, each Continental Qualifier will host Booster Draft Challenges as often as there are enough people to run a Draft!

Entry: $15 for Constructed and $30 for Sealed Pack in United States. Players in other regions should check with their local tournament organizers.

Format: Events held from June 6 to July 5 will be Constructed Format. From July 11 to August 9, the events will switch to a Sealed Pack format will use two packs of Drums of War, two packs of Blood of the Gladiators, and two packs of Fields of Honor (top 8 playoffs will be Draft).

The tournament will have Swiss rounds based on the number of players in the tournament, according to UDE Tournament Policy. All matches are best two-of-three. The top eight uninvited finishers will earn invitations to the 2009 North American Continental Championship event.

UPDATE - All players that placed in the top 8 of a Continental Qualifier will be able to pick up their Continental Qualifier playmat at GenCon Indy (Aug 13-16) at the registration booth.

Booster Draft Challenge

Entry: $15 in United States and Canada, players in other regions should check with their Tournament Organizer.

At every Continental Qualifier event, Booster Draft Challenges will also be going on for the duration of the event. When eight players sign up for a Draft, the event will begin. New tournaments will be happening throughout the day, as often as there are enough players to run one.

Players will Draft using two packs of Drums of War and one pack of Blood of Gladiators, until the second half of the season, when a Drums of War pack will change to one pack of Fields of Honor. After drafting, they will play three rounds of single elimination, using best two-of-three matches.

WoW Organized Play in 2010

The biggest change to the Organized Play schedule this year is the move of the World Championships to Gen Con Indianapolis. The World Championships will run Friday through Sunday, August 6-8^th.
