Q: I have two UDE numbers, what do I do?
A: Email player@upperdeck.com. Include all of your UDE numbers, and specify which number you want to keep using for future tournaments. This can be any of the numbers, but it should be one you have the card for. All your matches will count as if they were played on one number and recalculated from the start. This will affect all of your numbers on both past and future matches.
Q: When are rankings calculated?
A: Rankings are usually posted Tuesday morning, Pacific Time. Any tournament results submitted before midnight Monday will be included in the Tuesday update. Any results submitted after this date will be updated on the following Tuesday.
Q: Why did my ratings not change even though I played in a tournament?
A: A number of things could have happened:
- The tournament results could have been submitted late. The rankings are only updated once a week, if a result was submitted late, it won't be updated until the following week.
- The tournament results could not have been submitted at all. You can use the tournament locator at www.ude.com/op to see if results have been submitted. If there are results showing, they will be included in the next update. If the results are not there, contact the tournament organizer and ask him or her to submit the results.
- An incorrect UDE number could have been used for you. If there are results showing in the tournament locator, and your UDE number isn't there, contact player@upperdeck.com so we can figure it out.
Q: Why is my name not showing in the rankings?
A: We may not have processed your registration form yet (this usually takes 3-4 weeks from when we receive it). If it has been more than 4 weeks since you signed up, contact player@upperdeck.com, please include your UDE number.
Q: I am ranked in the wrong area, how can I update my address?
A: Email player@upperdeck.com so we can update your address.
Q: I went 5-1 in a tournament, but didn't gain many points, could the calculation have been wrong?
A: Rating points gained and lost are based on the difference in your and your opponent's ratings. Winning against opponents with a lower rating than you gives less points than winning against opponents with the same or higher ratings. If you have a much higher rating than your opponents, it's harder to gain points.
Q: How can I find sanctioned tournaments in my area, so I can gain rating points?
A: Use the tournament locator at www.ude.com/op. You can search by date, country, state and/or city. For more hits, search by country or state rather than just searching by city. You can also search for completed tournaments back in time - most places that have had tournaments before will hold more tournaments in the future.
Q: Where can I get my password so I can become a certified judge?
A: If you have a plastic membership card, your activation code is on the back of your membership card. If you have lost the card, or have an older paper membership card, please contact player@upperdeck.com.
