Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is a sanctioned tournament?
A sanctioned tournament is run by a certified tournament organizer. The TO must be using the MANTIS software. When the tournament is completed, the TO uploads the event and the event history is added to each player’s tournament record.
2) How do I check that a tournament has been submitted?
You can check your tournament history by checking the web page below. Tournaments are updated once a week.

3) I played in a tournament but it is not showing up in my history. What do I do?
Check the Tournament Locator and see if the event has been uploaded. If it has, then the incorrect UDE Membership Number was used when you registered for the event. You can contact player@upperdeck.com for assistance.
If the Tournament Locator does not list the tournament, you need to contact the TO and ask them to upload the event.
4) Can my Honor Ranking ever go down?
No, it cannot. Honor is gained by participating in sanctioned tournaments, regardless of your performance.
5) How is my Honor Rank calculated?
A player’s Honor Ranking is the sum total of all the tournaments that player has played in over their lifetime or that year depending, on which value is being calculated. Each week the player’s complete tournament history is compared to their current Honor Rank. If their history exceeds the threshold value for that Honor Rank, the player is awarded the new rank and the process begins again.
The threshold needed to achieve the next rank increases at each higher rank. In addition, more competitive events like National Championships are weighted more heavily at higher ranks than at lower ranks.
6) How can I calculate exactly how many tournaments I need to play in to make the next level?
It is not possible to calculate exactly how many events will be needed to achieve the next rank, as the value of each tournament is weighted based on the activity of all World of Warcraft TCG players. You can view your progress to the next level in the ranking display provided below.
7) I played in 107 tournaments this week, but I didn’t go up. What’s happening?
Players will receive full credit for one tournament every week based on the C-Value of the tournament. Events after the first will not count as much towards the next level.
8) If low level tournaments are worth less, why should I play in them?
When calculating Honor Ranking, tournaments with a lower C-Value are used to fill in the lower level Honor Ranks first. This means that their contribution to a player’s Honor Ranking will go up even if the player has a history of playing in Regional Qualifiers or Darkmoon Faire Championships.
