quick questions about defending with your hero

So I have a few quick questions if someone could help me out I would appricate it.

    Here is the scenario:

I have a defending hero. I pay the cost to swing back with my weapon to do damage back to the attacker.

1- Is the swing back considered an attack or is it something else (i.e can I use an effect that says "while attacking, your hero gets' +2 atk", etc.)?

2- If I swing back with my weapon (say it is a 2 ATK weapon) does my hero keep that +2 atk for the turn while defending or just for that attack (basically do weapons work for the turn or just the attack they are used)?

thanks for the help, I am super exited about the game!

    1) you would not be considered attacking, you would be defending still, so you can't use that card.

    2) You keep that +2 attack until the end of combat.

Yeah what he said. You can't use abilities that use Attacking since you are on the defending side of the board.

the +2 attack will only last till the end of the combat... not your whole turn. One counter attack per turn.

    One counter attack per turn.

Not entirely true. The ATK bonus from striking with a weapon does indeed last only until the end of the combat. However, if you have other weapons equipped or have a way to ready the weapon with which you just struck, you'll be able to strike again that turn.
