Re: Loot Cards and UDE Points FAQ

hehehe, now I see why you guys normally put up article discussion threads the evening before a preview.  If you put it up after the preview, there's already 2 or 3 threads about it and no one used the official thread.  :-p

lol. I wonder if they didn't think the FAQ article would need a discussion thread.

    Hello

Here is a question for the FAQ I think should be clarified :

Q: Will UDE point for european consummers work with European server, and on the same www.ude.com/point site?

    thanks in advance

Re: Loot Cards and UDE Points FAQ

Just curious how rare the loot cards are. I'm just a bit confused with the rarity of the cards and how loot cards fit into the mix. While I don't mind forking out a bit for a chance at a ridable turtle, I have no inclination to do so if the odds are insurmountably low.

    They are quite rare.
The Legendary cards are on a slightly different system. One is about as rare as a rare, so you can expect to see one in ~4 booster boxes, one is about as rare as an epic so ~1 Case and one is about twice as rare as an epic so ~2 Cases. Booster packs are packed out as 1 rare/epic/legendary, 3 uncommons, 10 commons and 1 Hero card.

I'm guessing Landro (gives a unique tabard) would be #1, at 1 per ~4 booster boxes. Then the Hippogryph would be #2 at ~1 per case. Then the turtle everyone wants will be about one in every ~2 cases.

Re: Loot Cards and UDE Points FAQ

1 booster pack = 100 UDE points (most likely costing $3.91 a pack without tax)
5 booster packs = 500 UDE Points ($19 without tax)
10 booster packs = 1000 UDE Points ($39 without tax)

1 booster box  = 2400 UDE points ($93 from UD online store)
20 booster boxes = 48,000 UDE Points ($1880 without tax)

If indeed an UDE in game item will even remotely cost 50k points I for one won't bother

no in game item is worth almost $2000 let alone one that is only usable on 1 character

You've got it backwards though. You don't spend money on the UDE points. You buy packs to play the game, and they throw in some reward point you can pile up and use however you like. It's extra.

I'm thinking that the 50,00 they mentioned in the article was just a hypothetical number. I'm sure there will be many things that are available for much more reasonable point totals.

Actually, in another thread, UDE said:

That being said, the number 50,000 was not pulled out of thin air. We certainly want some of the coolest in-game items to be valued around that level.

Re: Loot Cards and UDE Points FAQ

Ok, now that the cards have been confirmed, I have a comment about the turtle mount . . . It says "normal running speed" so i would assume that it would be the same speed as a lvl 40 mount.  It does not make any sense to me for the "legendary" loot card to not be at least equal to the running speed of an epic mount.  Granted not everyone has an epic mount, but I do not want to replace my epic raptor mount or epic warhorse mount with something like this that is only "semi-epic".  Yeah, it would be cool to sit on in Org or something, but wtf?  I want to USE it as well.

    Anyone else's thoughts on this?

This has been discussed before. It does not move at mount speed, it moves at character speed on foot. And I don't believe using the turtle mount will replace the one you have. It's a cosmetic sort of thing, meant to be shown off, not used.

Re: Loot Cards and UDE Points FAQ

Right, but that's for "cool" in-game items  in which some people, including myself, have absolutely no interest.  If stuff like collector tins and playmats are going to require that many points then the whole redemption system would be pointless. But like I said there will most likely  items of interest to people other than the MMOers that will be available at lesser point totals.

Re: Loot Cards and UDE Points FAQ

True. I was just pointing out that UDE did confirm 50,000 was a real number, not just hypothetical.

But I wonder when they'll give us the breakdown on the prizes. I hope the play-mat isn't going to be too bad on point cost. Especially since they said that for things like that, you need to pay shipping and handling.
