    Pet ruling

I keep looking, but I can't find any ruling on how many Pet Allies you can have. I would have assumed only 1, since in the MMO a Hunter can only have 1, but I simply can't find any mention of this. Can I actually have multiple Furies out at the same time?

On a related note, regarding Ongoing Abilities, I know you can have 2 of the same attached to a character, so just double checking, this does count for Master of the Hunt as well? I can have multiple copies in play at the same time?

    Re: Pet ruling

Just like equipment, on pet cards there is a Pet(1).  Therefore, you can only have 1 out at a time.

You can have multiple Master of the Hunts out.  They stack to make your pets HUGE.

    From the rulebook:

"Some cards have a tag on their type line followed by a number in parentheses. That number tells you how many cards with that tag you can control at the same time. Any time you control more than that number of cards with that tag, you must immediately put all but that number of them into their owners’ graveyards. You choose which to keep."

Yes, it counts for those, too.

    Re: Pet ruling

Well, seems a bunch of you jumped all over this before I even had a chance to respond...  :)

Nice to see that we're looking out for one another.  Even if it's a dwarf you seems to keep wiping out his race.

But I have one further question for you regarding pets.  Here's two scenerios:

    1) Infernal is in play - I opt not to pay the cost of upkeep (discarding a card), and it goes to the opposing player.  In this scenerio he is not a hunter/warlock, and thus would normally not be entitled to a pet.  Does he still get to keep the pet, or does it wind up going to the graveyard.

    2) Infernal is in play - I opt not to pay the cost of upkeep (discarding a card), and it goes to the opposing player who is a hunter/warlock, but...  has a pet in play already.  Does he now have two pets, or will one of them have to go to the graveyard?

The text of the Infernal overrides the rules in this case since it specifically lets control go to the other players.

Nothing on the Infernal lets it override the  Pet(1) restriction, so one of them would have to go to the graveyard.

    No quote for you!

    Re: Pet ruling

Thanks for the replies. For some reason the (1) on there just didn't register lol.

As for Infernal, all I can say is that he is a Warlock only pet (upper right-hand corner), so a Hunter cannot use him. But I'm not sure about the control ruling for him.

Interesting point, but the game text for Infernal states that he gains control of it, does not say anything about over ridng the one pet rule.

    Agree on both!

Ok...  Misread this entirely, guess I'm more tired than I thought.

As for both scenerios, I guess they panned out pretty much as I suspected.  Thanks for the input folks.

Back up a bit. From what I can see in the rule book, "Heroes are restricted to using armor, weapons, items, and abilities with their class symbol on the card." This is stated in a few places, but none of them mention that allies are so restricted. Now, you certainly can't include an Infernal in a non-warlock deck because of the deckbuilding rules, but I can't find anything that would prevent a non-warlock from using an Infernal that came into his control.

That is what I meant, up above, he was saying Hunter/Warlock, but only the Warlock can use it in a deck, but if some one gains control of it, they can use it regardless.

    Re: Pet ruling

Per the card text, which overrides anything in the rule book, yes, I agree.

Provided that the opponent is does not have a pet in play.  Otherwise one of them will have to go to the graveyard.

    Re: Pet ruling

    Per the rules:

v     Trait icons, which are used when you construct your deck. (See the “Traits” and “Deckbuilding” sections for more information.)

This means it is only a consideration as to the legality of your deck.

Common sense isn't common. If it were, almost everyone would have it.
