    MWS Token question

    Hi guys,

I've recently downloaded the Tokens download on infogathering and have tried to install it.
Extracted the data and double clicked all 3 files.

When I open MWS and start a game there are no new tokens to use.

can anyone provide assistance? I've done a search which has yielded no sucessful results.

    Re: MWS Token question

The token file is a bit tricky, as it is the first file i've created that alters registry files.  The token install is mostly for getting all the images for the tokens.  I created the registry files on Windows XP, so it will NOT alter the registry files for Windows Vista or later versions.

Not to worry, you can still get most of the benefit out of the tokens file.  You will just need to manually create the tokens in MWS.  I've already provided the images, you just need to make the stats and the card name.  First, open the folder called c:\program files\magic workstation\Pics\TK.

In this folder are all the token card images.  With this window, open MWS Online Play (The online game), load a deck and start a solitaire game.  Once the game starts, right click anywhere on the screen and choose create token (Ctrl T).  A window will appear that allows you to make and save tokens.  for this example we'll use the peasant token, as that token is the most prevailant.  Next to "Creature Type" is a box with three dots.  Click on that box and a new window will appear.  Now switch to the pics folder i told you to keep open.  Notice there is a file called "peasant.full".  To make the peasant token, you must make the creature type match the file name, less the .full part.  So for peasant, just type peastant in the creature type box then click OK.  Now set the Power/Toughness by typing 1/1 in the box.  Finally, choose "Colorless" for the color type.  Click the Add button when done.  You've now made a predefined token you can use in the game.

To make a token appear on the screen, choose a token from the predefined list and click "Create".  Voila!  A peasant token, with image, will now appear on the screen.  To make any other tokens just follow the steps above.  At the time I made this file, I either found the token card images or made images myself.  Since then, new tokens have been defined (Gladiator, for instance).  I haven't updated the file yet, but you can make any new tokens using any image you want.  Just be sure that all images are in .jpeg format and that all images are named  -   token.full where token is the name of the type of token you are making. (i.e. gladiator would be named gladiator.full.jpeg)
