    Business Casual - Forging Iron

    Business Casual - Forging Iron
    By Mark Slack

If there's one thing that Dwarves are known for, it's making the most of their metal. Today, Mark's going to explore how to best take advantage of the powerful Ironforge.

Re: Business Casual - Forging Iron

It definitely gives more perspective on Ironforge... in that it can be used to recur effect-providing equipment.
I'd given it a go with Hunter (for Block, initially) combined with Find Treasure allies just to see if I could outdraw Hunters' troubles versus the many discard decks that exist.

I appreciate seeing the different perspectives on Ironforge, but the fact is that it's kind of a janky combo unless you commit to using effect-providing equipment. Fun to play, but not as well-balanced & competitive as I'd first hoped.

I love Mark's articles and clever combos, and this is no exception.  However, I feel that the Ironforge Deck I posted a while back is a bit more well-rounded and can irk out more wins.  Of course, I did not focus on Find Treasure and Spellunker, which would take the deck in a different direction entirely.

I will say that he captured all the best reoccuring cards to abuse with Ironforge:

Retainer's Blade, Blue Suede Shoes, and Blackout Truncheon.

I would add Korthas to the list of amazing dwarfs to play (despite him not having find treasure) and possibly Chipper Ironbane.

Marksman's Legguards is also a nice recursion card, albeit only for Hunter.
It's especially fun to use with Wyler, who isn't a Dwarf.

Yes, that is very true.  I thought of how cool it was to be able to recur the 1 cost equipment with only 1 ally in play, but couldn't think up a good build to support that 1 card.  I did not see much else for hunter that would be great to run with Ironforge (in terms of equipment/weapons)

here's a thought. Use 4x major healing potion. They're 1 cost, so it's almost like unlimited heal

You're right, there wasn't a whole lot else, which is another reason I scrapped my block Ironforge Hunter. Other equipment pieces I ran in the build were:
    ~ (2-cost) Bloodseeker
~ (2) Girdle of Blasted Reaches (ok, so I can look at a card upon this entering, which goes with Miranda)
    ~ (2) Cloak of Darkness
~ (3) Fletcher Gloves of the Phoenix
~ (5) Ice Barbed Spear (which I never planned to recur)
