    SoCal (L.A./O.C/I.E.) Battlegrounds schedule

    If you need your Minis fix, here are a list of all the places that have Battleground Kits and hold weekly tournaments in the LA/OC/Inland Empire area.  Any stores that want to update their info, just post and I'll edit it. It would be nice if we could do some kind of league with all of the participating shops =)

    Legal Line: Free Pizza is me being nice - we usually have players kick in a few dollars and grab pizza together - Its great to see so many stores in the areas getting thier events going.  $10.00 that i charge sounds high - but for the fact i want to make it feel a little more special and i give 110% back (really i usually kick in a little more then the players donate for the prize pool) little things like this and trying to talk to my players and what they want have helped me a lot... Even when i get bumed out that only 1-3 players showed for an event - i continue to hold it at the same day and around the same time incause someone misses one of my emails. best of luck everyone --- stores if you would like to share feedback feel free to give me a call.

    Even though it's been said a million times before, I'll say again that Will is probably the best TO I've met for a hobby store league. If you ever have to choose one store to go to, make it the UDE Store in Huntington Beach. Also, nice thread Patrick, it's pretty useful for me too, even though I should know this stuff...

    Sealed Tournament

    Come join us for our World of Warcraft Miniatures Tournament,

     Being held at the Upper Deck Retail Store Saturday

    Date: Saturday May 9th 2009

    Registration: 4:00pm Start 5:00pm

    Format: Swiss – “Sealed”

    Entry Fee: $30.00 (Cash or Credit Card)

    1st Place – 3rd Place = Store Credit

    +Random Door Prizes

    • Each player will be given (2) Random Mini Booster Packs once Event Starts.
    • You will have 10 minutes to build your army of (3).
    • You must keep the same 3 figures throughout the Event.
    • Several Rounds until we have (1) undefeated remaining.
    • In order to maintain a steady flow – Rounds will be 40 minutes in length.

    My work schedule has me working at 4pm on saturdays so I hope I can make it to some of the early Saturday tournaments or other weekday tournaments.

    This is a great list and I would like to give out a good word to GMI, Gameology, 4 Color Comics, and AGR. I've also heard really great things about the Upper Deck store at Huntington beach.

    My friends and I regularly play at GMI and Gameology. I might start playing again at 4 Color if they stick to their new start time, 4pm, and again at AGR if they ever have another tournament. The normals that go to GMI and Gameology haven't been attending BGs lately because of MTG prereleases/release, mothers day, free comic book day, and all sorts of other events that have come up. I'll start normally attending BGs again by next week.

    Hopefully some new faces will show up, especially with spoils being out, and if you can, please support your local brick and mortar shops.

    Giving a bump for GMI and letting people know they are still having regular tourneys on Saturdays at 12. Gameology also has regular tourneys on Sundays at 2pm. Hope to see you there.
