    Upgrading my Elendril with FoH

    Hi,
I'm trying to find place for the new cards from FoH in my solo Elendril deck, but now it just seems to be too exposed.
    Here goes the current decklist:

    Elendril

    4 Ranged Weapon Specialization
    4 Rapid Fire
    4 Silencing Shot
    4 Snipe
    3 Explosive Trap
    3 Planned Assault
    3 Reload
    3 Trophy Kill

    4 Blackcrow
    4 Steelhawk Crossbow
    3 Quickstrider Moccasins
    3 Devilsaur Moccasins
    3 Wraith Scythe
    2 Wrathtide Longbow

    4 A Warm Welcome
    3 The Cipher of Damnation
    3 Concerted Efforts
    2 Crown of The Earth
2 Call to Arms: Arathi Basin

I pulled out 4 Zempre, 4 Arcanite Dragonling, 4 Xanata for space. My major concern is rush now that i don't have anything to protect (traps save me for a turn but that's all).

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Re: Upgrading my Elendril with FoH

I advise switching out Wrathtide or and your Wraith Scythe for the new crossbow in FoH, it will help you in the aggro area as you'll be dealing more damage with it to the opposing allies. Or, just add some Volleys and some traps to protect yourself.

    Hope this helps.

Re: Upgrading my Elendril with FoH

uhmm... but the crossbow is in there ( 4 Steelhawk Crossbow).

or didja mean the Arcanite Steam-Pistol?

for the traps I could replace Reload with 3 Frost Traps.

10x for your respons btw :).

Re: Upgrading my Elendril with FoH

i love this deck and started to build a FOH version of it right after the spoilers were online

biggest change i made is that i removed the rapid fire's, they didn't test very well but before reload where basicly your only win condition, you have to activate it before you attack and if your opponent exhausts you or your weapon in responce the card was wasted

    gameplan is:

-get a weapon and pump its attack up using ranged weapon spec, the flip and slashdance

-strike out with weapon attack, reload. take the shot

-if its not enough planned assault FTW

the deck kills reliably in turn 6, traps will stall the rush till you can combo out

silencing shot is great at the start of the turn you plan to combo out, if they dont interupt it the cannot stop you from winning, again a play made possible by reload, it was not possible with rapid fire, remember you can react to the exhausting effect of the steelhawk by exhausting it to play silencing shot

in my opinion the deck needs 4 crown of the earth to replace quests and weapons with combo cards

the weapons where chosen because they are relativly cheap to play and had a high attack value, you don't have to worry about strike cost when you play reload over rapid fire

the traps where chosen because they are effective against ally as well as hero attacks, personal preferance

Re: Upgrading my Elendril with FoH

Nice deck felorc. And 10x for your replay.

Personally I replaced the Bloodseekers with the new Steelhawk Crossbow simply because you have no way to remove the dmg you get for not striking with it.

Your strike/reload + planned assault combo is great. Igt try it right away.

For the traps, Explosive trap looks a bit better then Ice, but that depends on your meta, the last 1 goes way better if you expect solo players.

As a suggestion I would recomand Quickstrider Moccasins - making your hero / weapon ready for a trap / Silencing. Also, you have nothing to deal with nasty big allies. Maybe some Snipes or Trophy Kills, but then again - that depends on your meta.

Goodluck and have fun with your deck

Re: Upgrading my Elendril with FoH

-ive been hearing a lot of talk about daspien lately and ive played solo rogue alot, without the ice traps you will lose to that deck, so ill stick with the ice traps

-i dont need more awnsers against big allys because i dont need to attack to win, a buffed weapon with a hand full of slashdance, take the shot and planned assault works fine too, so water elemental and stuff dont lock me down, and a take the shot or weapon attack kills any ally too

-instead of paying 4 resources and wasting deckslots to the quickstrider boots, i think ill just pay the 4 resources to play the trap/silence shot when i need to, , and reload ready's hero and weapon too

Re: Upgrading my Elendril with FoH

You're right bout Daspien beeing a huge threat this dayz. And the new Emmi de deck which is a pain too. Ice trap should take care of them.

Did you played with this deck against the current top ones? I played something simmilar to your concept (didn't have Slashdanse so I've kept 3 Quickstrider and 3 Snipes, going for 14 quests) against an Orgrimmar deck and it managed to kill him surprisingly fast, but donno bout the others top decks such Demonsoul and Myriam decks.

Playing Reload on your turn just to have rdy your hero or bow for Silencing / traps...donno. It's quite obvious for your opponent so he/she will not play something just like you expected. But then again that's cool cauze you delay the game waiting for the combo pieces.

If you'll be kind enought to share the wins / loses of the deck, I'll be much thankful. Thanks

Re: Upgrading my Elendril with FoH

i took out the one draenei's junks and replaced them with 4 snipe

that card works great with korky's randsom (keeping 2 open and choosing to snipe or to draw) and snipe is just amazing against so many cards!

i played a few games against the new warlock control deck and its a pretty good matchup, using snipe and silence shot to protect your ranged weapon spec and weapon against banish to the nether pretty much wins you the game, the deck is pretty weak against solo and this deck is just too fast, use up all your cards fast as a counter to discard and protect your korky's against the tower quest by keeping 2 open so you can complete it in responce, traps are great against seer signet and voisfirewand and because you have long range they can't hit you with the wand while you attack

they don't have any way to heal against this deck and can't prevent you from attacking so just hitting for 5+ damage per turn is enough to seal the deal, you want to win this game before illidan hits the table

just a small reminder against orgrimar/shadowfiend decks, after frost trap resolves, opponents cant attack for the rest of the turn, even if they play ferocity allies after frost trap was played that turn

Re: Upgrading my Elendril with FoH

just finish a couple of matches against a Priest Rush and it does very well. The traps saved my skin 3 or 4 turns (I put those Ice traps in the sidedeck and go for the new Explosive trap main) so in turn 7 the match was won.

The korki's and snipe are a good choise for the opopent turn, but as I have the new Crossbow and Ranged Wep. Spec. i retaliete with it and with those 2 resources (if not used for snipe) complete A Warm Welcome. Personally i love this quest.

So...2moro igt test it against some solo decks, maybe a Black Ice too.

Re: Upgrading my Elendril with FoH

blackice seems tough, if you can combo out without attacking, its nice to play silencing shot first, they can't interupt it with fizzle :-) 25 health is a plus though!

Re: Upgrading my Elendril with FoH

My mate with the warlock didn't showed up, so I played against Black ice and Orgrimmar.

The Black Ice match started well, turn 5 was a bit scarry, cause i didn't have any bows in hand but the big-bad Scrapper didn't show up. Turn 6: Black Ice was "freezed".

For my surprize, the Orgrimmar deck was build a bit different from the original one. There ware 3 Wrecks in the main that tooked my by surprize in the first place, but some Explosive traps saved my skin for enought time to do the combo. But that was it. Aftes Side-boarding 4 cards, the Punctures showd up and the hole plan goes downhill.

It was a good play-testing though.

Re: Upgrading my Elendril with FoH

yeah puncture AND wreck is tough, just puncture can be played around by playing the bloodseeker in the turn you combo out (lowest play cost of all the ranged weapons) but then he just wrecks it and you cant silence shot effectivly,

mulligan to a hand with a bloodseeker and a silencing shot seems best, hope he doesnt have wreck when you play the bloodseeker and then keep bow ready to interupt puncture till you can combo out

the weakness of this deck is definetly that it needs a weapon and ranged weapon spec on the board to win

ill look into the orgrimmar matchup, do you maybe have a decklist for me lying around?
