    Re: Business Casual: Totem Time

It's a fun deck, that's for sure.  But it runs into the same problems that my earlier totems decks had.  No win condition.

I mean, it's fun to drop a hundred or so 2/2's and 2/1's and beat on your opponent, but without a real way to finish off your opponent, say with a certain 9 cost lock out guy, or an 8 cost guy with all the keywords, games tend to move away from the fun part of the deck and into the tedious.

But that's just in my experience, I still love the idea of a totems deck.

    Re: Business Casual: Totem Time

Interesting... had a similar concept with Rysa (and a couple more allies but anyway). One thing to note though, multiple Rysa's on the field can work even with a singular Fire/Earth elemental totem in the graveyard provided a similar Fire/Earth totem is in play.

How it works? Each of Rysa's power will trigger at the start of each turn. Just resolve one and put a Earth/Fire Elemental totem from graveyard into your hand. Now as both Fire/Earth Elemental totems are instants, you may choose to chain them on top of the next Rysa. Once that resolves, the totem is back into the graveyard (through uniqueness violation) and you can use the next Rysa's link to put it into your hand.

Aurastone Hammer is a bit iffy if you are running Porto in your deck as you can't target your own totems. An alternate derivation is recurring back Fire Elementals and dropping Hoxie Mettlemelt. Burn baby burn.

    Re: Business Casual: Totem Time

Two of my friends run decks based on totemic mastery and it's fun, but somehow it doesn't work out that well. Like someone allready mentioned, the deck in the article has nothing truly powerfull for a win condition (save from the earth / fire elemental totem spam which can get destroyed by most antirush cards out there).

I like the idea bu as  stated before you just need something to push it over the hill so you can win every once in a while.

they need a totem that creates a big ally or an ally that is cheaper if you have totems on the board for example 6/6 ferocity for 8 that gets its cost reduced by 2 for every type of totem you control or something to that effect, like lokholar was with allies

Kalai the Uplifting to uff up tokens maybe... or could try a ender with heroic presence.

You can also try Lord Cindervain.

Well, probably about the same time you'd find a really useful Air Totem in the online game. Overall, they are the least useful of the totems.

    Re: Business Casual: Totem Time

Would a deck like this be good in a casual area where most people are noobs? Also with that staff thing wouldn't it be better to abuse that with the earth totem and doshura to keep blowing up allies?

Both Kalai and Heroic Presence could not increase totems' attack/health. They both grant a bonus to allies in your party. Totems are not allies. They can be targetted like allies, but the aforementioned cards do not target.

Double check what the guy posted.   Tokens, for buffing up the elemental totem tokens.
