    Ready, Set, Fight!
    By Patrick Sullivan

Over the last few weeks, Matt, Justin, and John have been introducing you to the nuts and bolts of the World of Warcraft Minis Game, talking about the game clock, character cards, the UBase, line of sight, and so on. Of course, what you really want to know about is combat.

Hey Patrick!  This is Ryan, I met you at the San Diego Comic-Con and you demo'd the WoW minis game for me and my buddy Travis.  I told you I was going to remember your name so I could find you on the web site and see what you had written so that I could tell people that I knew you and feel like a cool guy.  Well, I found you and read you article and I enjoyed it a lot.  Since I played the game at the Con, I've been all over this site getting myself pumped for the minis launch!  It looks really kick ass and I can't wait until November so I can play it again.  My buddy Travis really liked the game, too, and since I want to have people to play the game with, I'm going to be talking this bad ma'ama jamma of a minis game up to all my friends.  Keep up the good work, I'll be checking back often to read the articles (really excited to learn about pets. . . just throwing that out there), and probably leaving comments about how tasty this game looks!  And also, I just wanted to say thank you for the demo; you totally sold me and my friend on the game.  Whoever is in charge at Upper Deck, please give Patrick a raise.  That is all.

Do the colored dice (red, blue, and green) have any bearing on the game? Possible future developments?

I just love the simplicity in the design, with the potential for more indepth complexity.

I'm going to assume that the different colors are simply to conform to the specific faction... i.e red for Horde, Blue for Ally, and green for monsters.  OR a player could use them to keep track of what they are actually rolling for, i.e. Red for melee, blue for defense, and green for magic attack/resist.

But generally speaking im gonna assume they are simply for faction color coordination...

I had some of the same thoughts in regards to Factions and Stats. The WoW Board Game by Fantasy Flight uses d8's with Red for Melee, Blue for Ranged and Green for Defense. I thought that maybe the design crew had gone for primary colors and forgot that yellow was the other primary color ;)
