Mother Misery opens up the world of deckbuilding with a number of brand new features, about four of them to be exact.

An interesting article. As agreed, daggers is probably the way to go with Mother Misery as it allows her early board control and if your lucky, you may draw multiple Whispering Blades allowing for some ridiculous damage.

Anyway I am curious why Gahz’ridian is advocated over You are Rakh'likh as it offers similar card draw for lower resouce cost. Inclusively, Root of all Evil is a devil with this deck as you have sufficient slots to put them in on top of your normal quest draw.

edit: As a side note, damage dealt at the end of the combat is associated with all weapons struck in that combat. As such if Mother Misery deals 12 damage with Sword of Zeal and Deathbringer swung, She will deal 12 shadow damage to the hero and ready 12 resources (and heal 12 damage if Wraith Scythe is one of her weapons).

This means we are all goign to have to start playing Bringers again doesnt it?

To do what needs to be done, you have to know where to do it.

I dare this deck to beat Pinprick... oh wait... I can't.

As dumb as it may sound, our local store has people trying the new demon heroes to their max potential... things went sour when the whole store (much to the imp players musing) realised Mother Misery has no way of beating Pinprick... without recurring Perdition's Blade 4 times, but by the time that happens... she's dead.

Just thought I'd note that here... anyone object really?

You can hope they play an ally and Deathbringer it. Then play Glaive of the Pit.

I was mostly successful getting top 8 with this deck:

Pinprick fails against MM + Deathbringer. The first ally you put down will doom you.

A good pinprik player would never play an ally vs mother misery.

So far, i havent seen a Mother Misery list that has included any of the good demon quests..

Whats the problem with paying 2 to draw 1.. no restrictions..

Whats the problem with paying 4 to draw 2? no resstrictions..

Id put both of those quests as 4 ofs.

I like You are Rakh'likh, Demon, as its just a better Ghazridian. But frankly, What Illidan Wants... isn't as exciting. I think paying 2 to draw 1 is becoming a little outclassed in some decks, this one especially. This deck has:
Final Blow that's VERY easy to complete for 1.
Shutting Down Manaforge Ara which is easy to complete for 1 (if this deck were running Warp Splinter Thorn like it should).
Big Game Hunter which is strictly better than just drawing a card.
Warm Welcome which isn't too hard to complete but is a big payoff at 2 for 2 cards.
The Deathforge, which I like as a free-for-one, but not as a 4-of in the deck. You won't be able to complete too many, and you don't want this card early.

I think the deck should cut down to 2 The Deathforge and add 2 You Are Rakh'likh.

Also, I think 3x Warp Splinter Thorn needs to come in, I think by cutting a Quantum Blade, a Reflex Gloves, and maybe 1 quest, like 1x Sunken Treasure. 19 quests is still enough to reliably draw plenty.

I played MM at a Reg this weekend, kind of close to Jer's list: -2 Manaforge Ara -2 Sunken Treasure -4 Quantum Blade -4 Reflex Blades +4 Sigil of Krasus +4 Terokk's Shadowstaff +4 Twig of the World Tree (boarded Blades as there were no Paladins). It was a very rudimentary list (thrown together day before) but I learned a lot about the deck.

Anthony did a fine job pointing out why What Illidan Wants is awful in the deck, but the problem with Rakhlikh is you're a deck that has to play new cards on most turns AND pay resources just to use the cards you have. A couple might be okay, but a 4 of will leave you slowed down trying to keep going when you'd wish you just had A Final Blow to move things along. Note that I cut 2 Sunken Treasure for this reason; I often had a full grip and rarely three free resources.

Deathforge is definitely not a four-of, the only deck you will like having it against is Runetusk. I sided them out when I faced Serpent Form for equipment because you pretty much never complete in that matchup (or any other Myriam matchup). Maybe play a couple, but again no more than that. I lost one game to Hood strictly because I played Deathforge face-up; figured out pretty fast that wasn't generally the way to play it. Over six rounds I completed the quest at most five times, and three of those times were in a match against Runetusk.

There was a Pinprik at our Regional, and I boarded a pair of Sulfuras to try and have a chance. Fortunately it got paired against Boomkin in Rd 1, which was a laughably fast match. I agree that given two perfect pilots, Pinprik should win pretty much 100% of the time.

For any interested, I went 4-2 for 3rd, facing:

Horde Traitor Mage (W: Tomb of Ice is not so good vs. me)
Serpent Form (L: good player and I made mistakes of inexperience)
my own Plague build (W: very favorable for MM)
    Serpent Form (W: poor player)
Runetusk (W: close first two, but I found my first Twig in the third game so that was that)
Serpent Form (L: same good player, at least I made less mistakes).

And then I went to Chili's.

It's too slow.  Without healing... this card is usually not a game ender vs. our little imp.  The damage spikes from Pinprick are just way too much too fast for this to be a viable kill factor.

Versus Pinprik, if you can just live to turn 8, you should be fine. Double Glaive of the Pit FTW.
