I will say that these days modern Hip-Hop is becoming effortless waste of time, but you can't acually say that its not "Music". Even if it is a simple beat with someone talking over it, the beat is still considered music, and the lyrics are still poetry. Put em together and you have a song! And in the long run, music is still art in all aspects. Look at Salvador Dali, he painted things with his own sh-it... And that (as odd as it may be) is still art. Rap is no less music than anything else. But your opinion is grasped. =P

I don't want this thread to become a thread for traashing each other for music tastes. I just want to know what the hell people listen to and certain opinions on things. Thats it...

I would argue that modern pop music is an effortless waste of time and hip-hop's assimilation into popular music is what makes most Top 40 rap songs as shallow and empty as a Mariah Carey chart-topper.
