Re: Darkmoon Faire Columbus: April 11-13, 2008

I was wondering if people who post results on the main page could put beside a players name the 2 letter abbreviation on where they live or maybe the name of a place they play at
    i.e.  John Smith (IN)Gamerz

For newer type players like me it is nice to see what states everyone is from and their home shops.

Way not to have any Servants cards hot-linked.

Re: Darkmoon Faire Columbus: April 11-13, 2008

If they're not hotlinked it means they've not been uploaded to the site's database yet. Nothing major.

I'm wondering when Andy became an X-0 player ( I of course jest, keep it going Kysuke!)

It may be nothing major, but it makes reading coverage a real pain in the ass.

Also, damn you Mark Slack for finishing 9th!  I was rooting for you to win it all.  Congrats on a well played tourney though.

Congrats to Andy for X-0ing the tourney.

Too bad for everyone else though, because Brad is going to win.

man, there better be Andy Hoang/Brad Watson feature match coverage.

Re: Darkmoon Faire Columbus: April 11-13, 2008

Double Myriam Starcaller is pretty retarded. That alone may get the Andy Hoang or Anthony Calabrese the DMF title.

It would be nice to have a new DMF champion. Nothing on Brad Watson, he's a great player and all. But it'd good to see some variety.

The sealed decks are only used in the swiss rounds: tomorrow will be a Top 8 draft.

oh dang! my Realm Champs tech has been spoilt by another like-minded player! One of the nice decks over at the x-51 rocket constructed, i mean. Dont blame him though, it's a pretty nice way to see it doing quite well.

same here.  someone ran almost the same deck I've been working on.  Oh well.

I'd be surprised if one of these two didn't go to the final table.

Re: Darkmoon Faire Columbus: April 11-13, 2008

Didn't see a place to respond to http://entertainment.upperdeck.com/wow/en/events/article.aspx?eid=28&aid=4063, so I figure this is as good a place as any. My deck, based on the pool:

    Hero: Kil'zin of the Darkspear

    1 - David Smythex2, Chill
    2 - Jaedan, Hulok, Zin'tar, Nealos, Zian
3 - Gurzuk, Alchemist, Azure Shield, Stoneskin
4 - Acid Hands, Tatulla, Totem of Decay
    5 - Marka, Sileax2, Reflex Blades
6 - Demonblood Eviscerator, Retainer Cara
    7 - Bloodeye, Delrach

    1 Leader of the Darkcrest
    1 Information Gathering
    1 Deep Sea Salvage
    1 A Final Blow
    1 Forces of Jaedenar
    1 Hellfire Fortifications
    1 Wanted: Durn the Hungerer

Not what I imagine other players would do, but I really like Kil'zin's flip as something to do on turn 1. Any time you play Kil'zin, your early game is going to be hosed. The Horde had a few late game beaters to turn the game and he can still use a noticeable amount of the equipment, even if it foregoes the Demonslayer. =/

Re: Darkmoon Faire Columbus: April 11-13, 2008

Seven of the top 8 went Aldor. The lone exception had 3 Scryer allies used for 1-drop 2/1 quickness. Must have had terrible Aldor draw or maybe just not many aldor.

Also see allot of the same basic kind of allies in those decklists. Have not done all the math and analzing to break it out in words that are true 100% but look for the patterns and it is obvious.
