    Boneheaded play of GenCon

    Hi,

    Try and beat mine.

Not shuffling back into my deck cards removed from play in game 1 (2 Chippers, a Fury etc.), and only realizing that towards the end of game 2.

    Your turn.

    Cheers.

    Day 1:

    Opponent: turn 2 Kalnuf Eagleheart.

Me: play Stronghold Gauntlets, attack Kalnuf with my hero and strike.

Opponent: uhhh.. you have no weapon.. or even resources to strike if you had one.

    Me: wow I'm bad.

Playing the Anchorite deck instead of the Nimassus deck. Hoo boy...definitely regretting that one.

    Re: Boneheaded play of GenCon

In the FOO sealed on Friday night:

    Opponents setup:
    exhausted Thunderfury
    2/4 protector
    26/28 damage on his hero

    My setup:
    Fel Iron Hatchet
    7 free resources
    Tempest Sun-of-Storms in my hand

All I had to do was attack his hero, let him protect, but NOT swing.  Untap with Tempest and attack for the win.
Where was the misplay possible you ask?  Easy, I swung away at the protector, played tempest and then immediately conceded the game.

I had another huge play mistake in the Ipod draft in the final 8.  Zomg!  Who lets Lynda Steel activate on Lhurg Venomblade, forcing me to attack with Lhurg.  In frustration I decked myself and conceded the match.

I learned my lesson, in a draft, don't make a 30 card deck with 9 good draw quests and no blueleaf/poisonwaters.

He makes up for it by being an unbelievable lucksack. Tell the story again about the game where your only out was to draw into 4 Mortal Strikes in one turn.

Opponent: attack you with Stone Guard Rashun.
Me: forget to strike with my weapon so I can finish off Stone Guard next turn.
Me: realize I'm an idiot, resolve not to repeat mistake next turn.
Opponent: attack you with Stone Guard Rashun again.
    Me: repeat mistake.
    Opponent: Moko you out.

I tried to outrace Thunderfury with Wraith Scythe while holding back on my own Thunderfury until I could get up to 14 resources. My math might have stood up if I had realized that your opponent can strike with Thunderfury even if you attack them and strike with a ranged weapon.

That wasn't my only out, I just happened to draw all 4 mortal strikes off of double counterattack + bloodrage + draw for turn. It wasn't my only out.. but it sure didn't hurt to be able to win the game that turn :)

    Re: Boneheaded play of GenCon

Allright my Bonehead play that put me on tilt for rest of the second day. (I had a good deck, I just played really awful for some reason)

Early in the game I played a Kalnuf looking at my opponents hand. One of the cards revealed was Point Blank.

Game moves along, we have about 3 cards left in our decks, I'm gonna win as he will draw his last card before I do (losing next turn with no cards). I have the board shut out with Ancient Bone Bow and Devilsaur Leggings. He can't play any guys and keep them on board. I get aggresive and think maybe I can kill him before it comes to drawing out ftw.

I attack his hero while I have 2 health left.

    Point Blank to the face.

    You're welcome, Aaron... ;)

    Re: Boneheaded play of GenCon

If it was not for some great tie breakers, my dumb move of gen con would take the cake by far and still might. I was 5-0 in the loot card tourney and was really excited that I was the last undefeated player. Anyhow, I deck myself in my 6th round match to find out I played the game about 9 cards short(auto loss), in the excitement I did not take all the cards out of my deck box. Not to say he wouldn't of smashed face anyhow, but I wish I was playing with all the cards in my deck. When the game finished I was so sure I had just given away the $500 tiger, I proceeded to go sit outside and smoke like 3 cigarettes and beat myself up mentally. Like I said though, thanks to some great tie breakers, my bone head move did not cost me, and I got the tiger.

    P.S.

That loud "Yes!!!" during the dream machine, was me hollaring in relief!

Worst single play I did was (once again) not counting.  Other guy has tim, grimdron, and 2 2/1s out with me at 5 life.  He plays ritual of sacrifice.  I say 'OK' with a Lay on Hands in my hand.  He then uses Tim and I go 'OK, I....wait....awww.'  Nothing else so directly lost me a game...
