How the trade list works:
(if you want your list linked, PM me with your link)
Format for trade list:
(name): (completed trades)
(dishonorable trades) (honor points)
(list link)How to post a successful or failed trade:
Be Specific as possible. It helps when you need to remember things.
I traded Bob.
We traded My X cards for his Y cards.
He was fast/he was slow.
(+1)
Bob hasn't sent me my cards and it has been more than 14 days.
We traded My X cards for his Y cards.
Bob has/hasn't replied to my PMs, or messages.
I want to give Bob a Dishonorable Trade Point.
Ranks:
If you attain a new rank, you'll be moved up the list on the next update.
Ranks work as follow:
1-3: Each 5 trades you make, you'll raise one rank.
4-6: Each 10 trades you make will raise you a rank, you must also have less than 5 dishonorable trades.
To reach rank 7, you must have successfully completeted 80 trades, and have 1 or less Dishonorable trades.
To reach rank 8, you must have successfully completeted 100 trades, and have 1 or less Dishonorable trades.
Rank 9: ????
What are Dishonorable trades? Simply
put, if you are sent cards, and never send yours out within a
reasonable amount of time, and/or fail to be pristine about a trade,
you may recieve a DT. A trader will post his belief that a trader is
being Dishonest, and if the first trader isn't satisfied, or the second
trader fails to fix the situation, then a DK is posted, and a trader
loses 1 rank and gains a DT. It's not really all that complex. Just
trade normally, and promptly, and you won't have to deal with this
crap. Also, if you recieve a DT, you may spend 30 points to have it
stricken from the record.
Trades and honor:Like the
hurt and heal system, you'll recieve points. This time, however, it
will just be +1. If you give a plus one, you lose a point yourself.
Every trade you make will give you your rank's worth of points as well.
The purpose for this, is a person with high honor is fast, has
excellent communication and is deserving of your point.
(example:
Joe is rank 8 and bob is rank 1. They trade. bob loved joe's trade and
gives him +1. joe thought bob was slow, so doesn't give the point.
bob's net points (1-1)= 0. joe's net points (8+1)= 9. Reversed, Bob
would recieve 2 (1+1) and joe (8-1)=7).
There is no true reason for points, other than to serve as a 'game' and as honor for trading well, and removing DTs.
If
you want your name linked (and it isn't already, please check) to a
have/want list, please PM me. Expect a few hour to day for the update.
How to Trade:Trading Etiquette:(shamelessly ripped off from Kysuke)
Please
try to respond to a trade-in-progress promptly. If you're going to be
away for a few days, let the other person know. If you're going to do a
trade, close the trade in less than a week. If you would like to reject
the offer, please respond with a short "No" or even a "@#%$^ off,"
anything to let the other person know that they should not waste
anymore time pursuing the trade. If you are PMing a person to respond
to a post that they made, please quote the post and state clearly what
cards are being discussed. People make many posts throughout the day
and do not memorize every post they make. It is also in your best
interest to do your part well as many traders here prefer to trade with
others who have made quick, successful trades.
This part isn't
as important, but for PM's subject it would be nice if you name the PM
with the card(s) being discussed and/or a date. Should a person have
dozens of PMs in thier mailbox that are named "trade"; your PM would
stand out more if it is not as generic.
If you're sending me an email, state your forum persona if you have one.
How to package your cards (w/ pictures!):
(sicariusdracus)
Once you've made your trade, please make sure that your cards get sent
appropriately! Quickness is key, but also having the cards arrive
safely is important. The first thing you should do, is sleeve the
cards. Go buy a pack of 50 of the cheapest you can find, and make sure
your cards are sleeved when you send them. A sleeve can fit 3-4 cards
snugly, but, for rares and epics, I recommend you sleeve 1 per card.
Sleeves prevent scratches and edge dings on each of your cards.Once
you start getting trades, you'll find that you'll have some extra
sleeves. Consider those the repayment of the 50 you bought! After a
while, you won't need to buy any more, because you'll have a
collection!
Here's a picture of cards already sleeved:

Once
sleeved, you're gonna want to protect those babies from being ripped
asunder by those freaks at the mail centers. As I've learned through
experience, your letter must be pretty flat, and not be weighted to one
particular side. To protect your cards from when they go through the
sorting machines (which are HARD on unprotected cards, and I guarantee
your cards will arrive bent), use hard plastic covers. Put the card (or
cards) into the case, and tape the top closed. Then tape the case into
the middle of the envelope. These run you about meh, 5.00 for 25 or so?
Pretty pricey, but once again, you should be recieving them as part of
your trades.
Cases protect from light to medium bending.
Here's a shot of our cards.
The
Leeroy is by itself in the case, protected. The Jaina and Chromie are
sandwiched between cases. This is a technique used to send more than a
few cards without weighing down the package. Simply tape the four edges
tightly, and the cards will be secure!

Bubblewrap
is also another alternative to cases. It's light, and provides lots of
protection. Be aware though, that rough journeys may pop the air
bubbles, and damage the cards if not cased. Here's a picture of Leeroy
being bubbled up:

Finally, you have 2 choices when it comes to sending the cards.
1. Letter Envelopes, and 2. Bubblewrap envelopes.
Letter
envelopes are typically white, and thin, for sending bills and love
letters and crap like that. If trading less than 5 cards, this is
cheaper and more effective than bubblewrap envelopes. MAKE SURE to tape
the protected cards to the middle of the envelope, and along the seals
too! Also, DO NOT put the cards in, and then write the address. This
can damage the cards. Typical shipping cost for ~5 cards, 2 hard cases
and sleeves = .78 cents.
Bubblewrap envelopes are a bit more
expensive, but are guaranteed to reach the destination first try. They
are usually orange in color, and have a lining of bubblewrap inside.
The small one (on the top of the picture) goes for .38 cents and the
bigger one goes for .52 cents. A trick I use to reuse these envelopes
(as seen in the picture below) is to remove the address label from the
envelope, and then duct tape a piece of printed or handwritten paper
with the address on it. Also, if you're careful, you can open the
envelope without any damage, and reseal it with duct tape.
Here is a picture of some envelope options, with cards inside and ready to be shipped:

Typically, postage is .78 cents for first class. 1.92 for express, and ~3.00 to europe.
Happy Trading!
