There are several types of certification.  Rules knowledge, tournament organizer, player management, and I think one or two more.  For judgeing I believe all you really need is rules knowledge, but having the others wouldn't hurt.

Actually you don't even need a Rules Knowledge certification to Judge a tournament.  Obviously the people in charge would prefer people to have some sort of certification and whatnot, but it's not required in order to Judge.

There's also Scorekeeping and Demo Team certification tests.

Level 2 and higher testing for any certification is always done in person.  It's how they make sure that the candidate is serious about the judge program.

I sent in an email with all my information about four days ago and, while there's no immediate need for me to have a UDE number, I was wondering about how long I should wait before inquiring further? I don't mean to be a bother, I just want to make sure my information was recieved - I'd hate to be waiting for a reply to something which was never recieved initially! =)

Is there any way to become certified in rules without being 16 or older? Some of the people at the local cardshop that I play at 'think' they know the rules, which I can prove wrong via the responses on the forums. I have a year on me before I can take the test, but I would like to be able to atleast half-judge some of the things they say.

Unfortunately, you'll have to wait that extra year.  I believe there are legal reasons that they make you wait until you're 16.  Sorry.

Years go quicker than you think, some times, though.  ;-)

In the upper right, it says "Signed in as <<username>>" Click on your username. Then Click on Avatar. The settings are there.

I received my membership card in the mail today, but it does not have with it an Activation Code.  It seems I will require the same to link my account to the number.  Does anyone know where I can get this?

Your card should have your UDE# on it.  As far as the password to go with the UDE# goes you can email player@upperdeck.com to get that information.  Be sure to include your UDE#.

As far as the activation number goes, I actually just noticed that there seems to be some sort of new linking system going on, linking your UDE account (the account used on the forums) and the OP account (the account you can use to take online certification exams).  You can do this linking with the UDE#/Password that I noted before rather than an activation code.

My best guess is that it allows you to sign in to the OP site with your normal forum id, versus using the UDE#/Password.  I don't see it as an option currently on the OP Forum, but it could be a gradual changeover.
