Re: Gaming in Pittsburgh? Lets get it going with this one!

Well, now that we know we have the people out there who are playing, we really need to make sure we do this right.  Hopefully we can form the right kind of environment for this game to thrive in Pittsburgh and thusly bring more oppurtunity for ourselves.

ahhh, I too know the wierdness of not going to Phantom... but when I stopped at the store today to pick up my 2 starters and 1 box of boosters, I got to talk to Jeff.

He will be getting a UDE rep so that he can start running games there too, which is good because that is still my haunt.

I am definitely looking forward to showing up on Saturday though and getting back in the gaming mood.  This will be the last game I try if it should fail in this town, so here is hoping we start kicking ***.

Question though, wil this be a sealed tourney, constructed, or what?

Well i have to get bac to sorting my cards, see you all soon!

Re: Gaming in Pittsburgh? Lets get it going with this one!

The format is Sealed.  You get six packs, make the best 30 card deck you can based on ANY hero (you don't have to pull the hero you want to use).  Well, that's what it should be anyways.

How much will it cost to enter at CCGs?  I haven't found a price yet and all my buddies are asking me.

Anyways, if it's not to hard to get to this place from my house, and if it seems like a nice place, I may start coming here to play WoW tcg cause it doesn't look like their is much interest for it at phantoms.  I am sick of play YGO and want to play WoW with other ppl who like to play the game also.

Re: Gaming in Pittsburgh? Lets get it going with this one!

OK, the prices are going to be as follows:

The 4-person Starter tourneys are going to be $20.

The Booster tourneys (probably going to be 8-person, but we'll see how fast knowledgeable people show up) are going to be $30.

I know that these prices are about $5 higher than retail for the product involved, but that means I will be kicking in additional sealed product to what UDE has sent.

Well, it was a blast saturday.  I am sure great fun was had by all.

So Mr. CCGsCards, you said you'll have unoffical tournies on wensday until you get the WoW tourney set up.  That include this wensday like four days from now?  If so, I'll probably show up.

Re: Gaming in Pittsburgh? Lets get it going with this one!

Any Wednesday that people want to show up, I'm cool with that.

Also, I want to thank everyone who turned out for the event. I hope you all had a great time, even if you didn't fare as well record-wise as you might have wanted. For those that didn't hang out until the end, congratulations go to Brandyn Ryan on winning the tourney. Josh Paris finished second. Also, if Brandyn happens to read this, I need you to email or call me with your UDE number that you couldn't find Saturday.

Once again, thanks to all who helped make the event a great success!

I live North towards Butler area. I don't travel down to Pittsburgh much anymore but I'd be interested in getting together with others to play. I don't know of any shops near me.

What format?  Best of 1 or Best of 3 with a 10card sideboard?

Re: Gaming in Pittsburgh? Lets get it going with this one!

pcdoggy, you're more than welcome to come down on Wednesdays and play here. You can find direction to the store at www.ccgscards.com.

As far as format, it'll depend on how many show up. If there's 4 or less by 6:30ish, it'll probably be best of 3 with sideboard - more than that it'll probably be best of 1. Of course, if all are up for it, while supplies last I have no problem running the Sealed Pack version like we did on Saturday - 6 packs to build a 30-card deck from.

Well, I'm interested in seeming some organized play in the PGH area, so I'll check this thread for updates. I'll see what I can do about making a Wed, for sure, and Phantom once they get their UDE.
