    Re: Ashenvale Realm Champs Location?

At Worlds, Ashenvale's RC came up in conversation, and it is looking like it is very much so going to be Sacramento, as A-1 Comics will be hosting the LCQ the day before.  I still need to talk to UDE about this on my end, so I'll give updates when I can.  =)

My only request is PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make the event somewhere near an airport.

Salem was a HUGE pain in the butt for anyone who has to fly to the event.

If it ends up in Sacramento it'll be about 20-30 minute drive from the airport.......close for us though :-)

If the plan is to have it in the Sacramento area.  I would recommend

    Red Lion Hotel

    1401 Arden Way

    Sacramento CA 95815

    (916) 922-8041

This area is central to most of the Sacramento players.  Any out of towners can stay at the hotel and for anyone driving, it is right off the freeway.  It is right next to a Mall, plenty of places to eat and some so so clubs if one like to part take in some drinks.  :)    Just don't challenge Team Discount to a drinking contest.

Just making sure this is noticed.

I understand that by the air port is a big thing.  Just don't see any real good spot near the air port. Not while anothother 5 minutes and there is a better spot to hold the event.  The only spots "by" the air port is just not all that good. What more can you ask for?  Except right by the air port.

    Hey Gwon,

I'm really considering staying overnight in Sacramento on the Saturday night. So, if it's at a Hotel, I'd really like to know asap. I'm sure all the folks from Seattle would like to know also.

    Thanks.

I wouldn't be unhappy.  (Though there are actually things I'd rather know).

    Matt,

    What would you rather know?

GWON: What's going on w.r.t. getting the Ashenvale Realms location sorted out??????

And I just saw that info on Tanaris has been posted. So Ashenvale is the only one outstanding. Come on already!!

    Cheers.

I think its too late now for me to even consider going.   Sacramento was expensive enough to go to, but now that we are about 3 weeks away, flights are going up in price exponentially.

    QQ.

Well then. Why wasn't more pressure applied in this thread from the non Northern Cal people? All the pressure has come from me a Tetsuye.

*Sheesh* If you needed to know earlier, you should have said so.

    Cheers.

I have made a few posts in the thread expressing my interest, but I really dont feel much comes from posting every day asking "whats the word?"... I have faith in OP to give us the information as soon as its available.  If this is how long it takes for them to set up an event, then the only way I can react is through non-attendance.

Sorry to hear that this may mean you can't attend Jedion.

I'm guessing others will be in the same boat, and mean that the comp is mostly locals (ie. NorCal players).

While I'd love to see Norcal players win the events, I'd prefer it was well attended and a fair representation of our realm.

I feel like Jedion does, why should I be here hounding UDE? If the venue wasn't in Sacramento and they waited till 2-3 weeks before the event to announce it then I wouldn't be able to go. Simple as that.

Jedion, you will be missed! Your Kilt was rocking at worlds!

Wasn't really getting at you specifically. There are lots of Washington players that could have applied pressure here. And where on earth does your faith in OP come from? :)

    Cheers.

    Re: Ashenvale Realm Champs Location?

Eh, I agree with Jedion - I don't think my posting in this form is going to make UDE give us information any faster, so I'll act appropriately.  For worlds '08, that was to just buy a ticket based on rumor.  For RC4, it's wait until they post something.

    Also, PM sent

    Re: Ashenvale Realm Champs Location?

Well, I'm a firm believer in posting concerns and do believe it can help get information faster. Just look at the RQ Season 5 format discussion. I truely don't believe it would have been posted by now if I hadn't been banging on about it.

    Cheers.

    Re: Ashenvale Realm Champs Location?

Well, we have to admit it is ridiculous. Why is it that much harder to get a venue for us than any other realm? Anyway, we've basically set our mind on it being in Sacramento. If it turns out to be in Canada, then chances are none of us will go. As it turns out, quite a bit of us are going and I'm trying to convince others to give the Open a shot.

    Re: Ashenvale Realm Champs Location?

I really, really miss Cascade Games. Ashenvale used to get info months before everybody else :(.

Oh well, I didn't get qualified anyway.
