Any new viable archtypes in FoH?

Drums brought us Jonas and I'll say loosely alliance Stormwind decks.

BoG brought us Lionar Orc Aggro and the casual  but effective Druid Token deck.

What does FoH bring in the form of new deck types?

Man is capable of as much atrocity as he has imagination.

FoH gave us really fun gnomes and dwarfs racials. I really wanna try making a rogue with gnome and dwarf draw power. Maybe not competitive but really fun in casual.

There's a fair bit of hype for Holy Priest thanks to the new talent.
And there's always Vandar and Honor counters.

Props to darknesspwns for the sig

I think with this new set we will see new decks spawning, but mostly we will see refining of old decks.

I know one deck i bet will make a partial comeback is a paladin ally deck.

i also bet we will see holy priest ally decks. i also don't doubt the resto druid will creep back in.

you gotta take into account whats being played right now.

    warlock,vanaris, and blackice

2 ally decks and resto is probably also ally based... i highly doubt you'd want to play either other those decks right now.

I see both Varanis and Black Ice slimming down in population with the new set.

Black Ice will be changing over to Loraala decks... Varanis will still be there, but won't be as strong. Not to mention that the Paladin Ally is pretty much an untargetable/uninteruptable deck if played/ran right.. which will give any control deck alot of problems.

Black Ice won't change over to Loralaa.  The flip is too important strategically.

And do you mind explaining why you think varanis will get worse?  Seems like it will still be really good.

Re: Any new viable archtypes in FoH?

Nothing will negatively effect the deck specifically, but with untargetable/uninteruptible coming in with the paladins, i see them makign a comeback. Also i believe with the combo ability of Loraala alot will go to that as well.

I know that the focus is moving slightly more ally based with these sets, Priest armor, orcs, ossus/loraala, and many more. Which gives most control decks a decently hard time.

I think Mage Fire Rush (Phosphus) is very good with Dethvir.. and Omeus Rush too.

i dont think dropping untargetables then randomly playing aura that is so out of place to drop blessings of kings is gonna be too amazing :/. that strat has been tried since motw came out, i dont see it changing somehow.

i take it you have just recently joined this game, and havnt played any other games competitively.

just because there are random cards leaning towards ally, doesnt mean jack really...

think of it this way, control is pretty dominant right now, and different control decks just got new cards. now out of the ally based decks/cards you named what do you think would actually UPSET a control deck. priest armor sure doesnt... no new orcs are any good, ossus/loraala... not sure why control would care. same with untargetables. when did control roll over to untargetables? maybe mage has the roughest time against untargetables, but it still has answers, and other control decks really dont care about untargetable.

jonas or some non traiter rogue (doubt it) just got carnage what card did ally get that is anywhere near as devasting as carnage, against control?

youll probably see alot of random ally decks early on but then you will see it switch to control when people are done messing around :/.

Re: Any new viable archtypes in FoH?

Concentration Aura, Blessings of Kings, and Uplifting Prayer will all assist in pumping up the paladin ally decks. i do not mean untargetable allies. i mean untargetable abilities... Combine all that with Aegis of Rapt Concentration and you have almost an unanswerable set of cards which will continually feed allies into your party, until your opponent can do something about it.

There are ALOT of cood combo's coming out of the new set

If you want to take cheap shots at me by calling me new jsut because someone has a different opinion than you, i feel bad for you. Not to mention the OP did also mention casual decks, not just tier 1 tourneyment decks...

I have not just recently joined, and yes i have played other games competitively. but i just look at the other options on what would happen. And personally i do believe that both varanis and black ice will see a drop in popularity, and there will be some other decks that will make it into the top8 at tourneys

Re: Any new viable archtypes in FoH?

i Think some good decks that will be coming back is joren discard witch i have been testing so far so good. and another deck that my team has been putting together is hunter rush. its pretty fast.  but the big thing  is paladin tempo and discard priest ar the 2 top decks i have been playing around with. both have good outcomes.

Re: Any new viable archtypes in FoH?

There might be a new frost mage, but it won't be Loraala. I think a non traitor Vor'na control deck might see some play with Icy Veins. I'm not sure it's going to have the draw power needed to back it up, but it should have pretty good synergy with Blizzard.
