I've been playing this deck (well a variant using Shaii for Corki's and Crown of Earth) for a few months now. It's fun, I'll give it that, but I've tried it in several tournaments and friendly games, it just seems to fall down on its *** sometimes. I was suprised to see it's result in the last DMF actually.

If you don't see that Artor's Mainstay or it just gets popped as soon as it comes into play, it doesn't seem that strong. I think I managed only 1 win with the deck without the Artor's in play.

It's really fun to play, I enjoyed playing it throughly. Even losing with it wasnt an issue, cause it's a great thing to see your opponent's face when the combo goes off. If you just want a deck to have a laugh with, I'd say go for it. I'm not too sure on its competitiveness in the current environment though.

I think our environment in the UK is very different from the environment in the US. We are in control heavy meta atm (+orcs) or so it seems.

The deck is great fun to play with and against and I love the idea behind it. However my favorite moment was playing against it with my Warlock Felshroud deck, surviving the combo for about 40 damage through using Demon Armour and then playing the combo back on the Hunter. Needless to say it was a funny end to a good game.

The article was very well written and interesting as always, although the end seemed to be overly positive to say the least, in terms of good/reasonable/awful matchups, and really lowered me enjoyment of the overall article because it seemed overly simplistic/fantasy.

You cannot say cards are bad in a UDE article Pat, that's pretty much why Phil didn't just come out and say 'this loses to one of the best decks in the format out-right'.

Andy - Damn that demon armour :(

I notice in the paragraph before the decklist you say how good snipe would be in this deck, yet in the actual decklist you do not have it in there? Why did you decide to axe it?

    Sad but true.

this is why people who write good articles for UDE get allot of credit imo.

This was a great article. Not just the topic (hunter deck YAY) but the process of building it and talking through the deck.

Plus imo jank decks are more fun to play.

Wonder if Stormpike Insignia will be good for this deck?

Re: Tools of the Trade - Ready, Aim, Combo!

I've thought about that too, but unless Alliance has a helpful hero for the combo and a good quest to generate a lot of draws, this deck will stick with the Horde ;)

Crown of The Earth for Shaii is excellent for searching that missing piece.

Her flip ability doesn't quite replace Morn's ;) But you can definitely build a deck around her.

Re: Tools of the Trade - Ready, Aim, Combo!

if only hunters were given a solid interrupt and ability/equip handler, this build would have a chance against Varanis.. Slow on the hero = auto loss.

I think only this build and Azaloth Lock that falls into combo category.. we need more combo decks.. :D

Combo decks are the way to go! I guess my opinion is biased though, all I played when I played Magic were combo decks. :-P

    Level up Daemon!
