Oooh, thrown weapons! It's like rogues get their own mini shadowfiend. Also, that two drop might be better for warlocks than Xanata.

Thrown weapons, btw, look awesome. It even uses the ranged slot.

Sadly the Knife is rare - it doesn't really feel like rare, more like a common. Just a throwing knife, after all. I really like Velnoth. There just might be one demon hero that will play it...
Crush Soul costs too much. 1 resource would be right cost for this, as the 2-cost slot is full as it is, and the allies there often  2-for-1.

It's also a shame (depending on which side of the table you're on) that the knives are, well, knives.

But I see them as being the rogue counterpoint to the Band of the Inevitable, Tatulla and BoD. UDE's not trying to gimp weapons rogues entirely but level them down a bit to expand the field of playable builds.

Think combat rogue. The bounce effect of this card is especially powerful if you're sandbagging, say, a Blade Twisting in your hand when you expect to see a board clearer like the BoD go off.

Whispering Blades will not pump Whisper Knife since it is a knife and not a dagger.

Mutilate in this case would do 7 damage.  Mutilate works off daggers, and the Whisper Knives aren't daggers, which is also the reason they don't get buffed by Whispering Blades of Slaying.

True.  I hope they print some thrown weapons usable by hunters and warriors also! 

 

There is definitely a hunter ability that triggers off of ranged damage.

Rogues have throwing knives.

Warriors have throwing axes.

Hunters have bows and crossbows.

Spirit seems to be a great card for lock decks.  With 12 health and untargetable it can really stay alive long enough to win you games.  Getting a card from your deck to your hand for free is always a good trade-off, especially when it's for free.

The knife is a great way for rogue to keep on pumping out the damage after a Ring of Inevitability pops. Pity Surprise Attacks doesn't work with it.
