Ha, is this from experience playing Markoff?

    WOW Rules Knowledge LVL 2
    Player Management LVL 1

Qualified for NACC 2009 with an 0-3 record. Yay 6 man tournaments with top 8 qualifying.

Horde Paladin is a very quebec thing i doubt this is going to be a deck used by a top end team at Seattle, while it is strong I dont think its going to do well in Seattle.

I happen to know that some of the Seattle folks are testing Horde Paladin for play, so I suspect it will seem more Seattle action than folks might expect.

It did very well in the last regional, and there was a lot of discussion afterward on how to clean it up a bit more.  It is getting some serious scrutiny.

The first thing that tipped me off that this is not a real Cheatyface deck or any kind of good pally for that matter, is the fact that it did not have lay on hands anywhere main or side. Who plays pally without lay on hands?

Lay on Hands blows. Aleyah's flip is all you need.

Bite your tongue if you get beat by end of match procedures in seattle :P

A paladin's best match-up is against rush. And it's not because of Lay on Hands. The deck's worst match-up is control warlock, where Lay on Hands is pretty much useless.

A card that's only good only when you're about to die or when your match has gone past 60 minutes, seems mediocre.

Lay on Hands is mediocre, but I still run 2 in my board because a lot of Paladin matches do go to time.

But how many Paladin matches go to time when Lay on Hands matters? It would have to be either in a 60-minute game 1 or in a game 3 situation. I don't think that's going to happen often enough on average to justify two sideboard slots.

Or if you won game 1 and need to survive the last few turns of game 2.

I had 2 of 9 matches at Realms decided by Lay on Hands during overtime.

UDE should retroactively 6 month ban everyone who's won a match in overtime with ghey on hands.

Re: Cheaty Face Deck for Seattle Leaked to the Internet

After taking a look at this list I would hope this is not whats going to rule the new format because if so it kind of makes me sad. At first SotB brought all this new life to the game...  Then as we progressed decks started to drop off the map in favor of rush and discard...  And now we are back to stall paladin...

Im getting a little sick of this cycle LOL it happened after DP after FoO and now after SotB.

I REALLY hope Paladin isnt top dog at Seattle, fight the temptation...  Imagien a room where 60 guys are playing paladins...   Now imagien 30-50 games a match going to time...  Yah that sucks.

Whats this I hear about a mage deck, yah Im pushing for Mage to pull in top honors, GO MAGE GO. FIZZLE YOUR STUPID LAY ON HANDS.

Re: Cheaty Face Deck for Seattle Leaked to the Internet

Paladins deck go to time because players (paladin or his opponent) is stalling or play too slowly for this kind of control deck.

I myself tried to play one, and i'm not playing fast enough, so losing to time because you have nothing better than Nar'jo T2 just sucks ass.

Best ranking at weekly draft : 4th (5 showed up and I got a bye :D)
Number of weekly drafts : 44 and counting.
0-4 drop at worlds (pairings suck)
Once won a game in DMF, my opponent didn't show up.

That's not always true.  One of my time limit matches was the Paladin mirror and the other was against Lionar control.  When two dedicated control decks face off, it takes a long time.  I also think Lay on Hands is a pretty crappy way to win a match, but that doesn't mean I'm going to handicap myself at a tourney by not playing it.  I think Darkness is an unfair card too, but people are still going to play it against me.

And until they allow draws, damage totals is the only way to decide a game that has run too far.

They should just stop the game and have an "abyssal shelf" roll off. each person rolls a die at the other person's hero. First person to land it wins. If both players hit, then the person who rolled higher wins.

Re: Cheaty Face Deck for Seattle Leaked to the Internet

I never played Magic competitively (I enjoyed Starcraft then Everquest better when I was 15 and quitted MtG) but I know they do allow Draws, what are the pros and cons for this?

    Pros :
    - When 2 control decks are tied, it's dumb to win or lose on a roll die, rather draw

    Cons :
    - It's easy to agree on a draw when it serves both players.

Anything else apart those 2 obvious ?

Why did UDE didn't allow draws?
