    never played minis

i have never played a mini game before but i love the WOWTCG and i played WOW online for a couple years. I plan on playing the mini game when it comes out, didnt know if someone could give a run down on how a typical mini game is played, and if they plan on having teasure items with the ony raid. Not real sure how weapons and armor when it comes to the minis vs. the TCG. I love how you can customize your decks in the TCG with different weapons, armor, and abilities

    thnx

I saw a picture of the demo being played at GAMA and I do see cards with the figure and also stat dials underneath the sculpts so I am predicting that the cards are going to be different items that add to the stats on the dials.  Or cards are going to just be character cards that list talents and spells and what not.

    Re: never played minis

from what I have seen there will be character cards that go with each figure that has their basic stats on them, and then there will be ability cards as well for the different classes. I am assuming we will be able to use these to customize how the figures play.

Also unlike a card game where you put x number of cards in a deck always, with the minis game each figure has a point cost based on how powerful the figure is, so when building your army you have to take that into account because you will only be able to have so many points worth of figures most likely.

If you never played a mini game you may want to go to your local game store and see if any miniature games are going on.  Each game is different, however you will at least be able to watch or even play in a game.  They are very fun and enjoyable.

    Re: never played minis

Well, almost all mini games are different. You have warhammer, wich I play, wich includes armies, or more like big war bands, wich is played with a rulebook and the appropriate army book. Then you have dungeons and dragons, wich ranges from single heroes, or small war bands. Then you have confrontation, wich includes big warbands and cards. I personally think that the wow mini game will be something similar to dungeons and dragons, with one player controlling for example onyxia, and the other controlls a raid group of heroes, or call it what you want.

But one thing I don't understand, is how on earth they're gonna make this somewhat balanced, as most of the characters in the game will be special characters, like thrall and those guys. So I don't really know if you've gotta team up illidan, thrall, and arthas to take down onyxia for example.

I would have to guess that all teams will be faction based, and raid games will probally be doable with with 2 - 5 man teams maybe less.

While I would like to have the Horde leaders, I hope thier Honor Cost is approiate to thier strength.
