For the people that apparently haven't gotten it yet: People are trolling you about the nerubians. heh. They KNOW how it works, but keep rules-rickrolling because it's working... heh. That is all. Back to your regularly scheduled trollification. ;)

well I'm sorry, but I'm genuinely confused because from my own understanding of the text, the +1/+1 bonus only applies when there's exactly 1 ally/ability in your Graveyard.

now I know a lot of ppl have said the effect only applies as long as you have at least 1 ally in the Graveyard (i.e. having 2 allies in the Graveyard will still only net you only one +1/+1 bonus), but if that's the case the wording of the text should have been:

"if you have at least 1 ally in your Graveyard, this ally has +1/+1"

can someone clear up this for me? this is seriously bugging me (pardon the pun)

"A/an" is quite simply not the same as "one." You're thinking too hard about it. "If there is an ally" is just as true with five allies as it is with one. A is an indefinite article. If you ask me if I have a bicycle and I answer yes, I have a bicycle, can you then tell me how many bicycles I have? No definite data on number can be gathered with just the indef. article "a."

They chose to write "an ally" instead of "at least one" because they mean the same thing and "an ally" is more concise, and therefore makes a more elegant card.

ZG gets the same preview cards that all non-official UDE sites (us, info gathering, wowtcgplayer) get. (not counting the german site).

    None.

You can add www.wowccg.fr to your list.

French are playing this game ? Are you sure ? You must kidding !

I would post about the Nerubian guys, but I think that's been beaten to death despite the fact that some people are still biting.

I don't like the idea of class matters because I thought those were the worst from that OTHER game. Having said that, I have faith that UDE will do a good job with it though. I imagine playing Jonas and your opponent plays:

What a random loss! ... unless you have Hateful Strike.

Unless you are not sure that half of the field will be rogues, this card will never be in any deck, but cards like this can make sure that everything can be hated, and therefore ensure diversity of meta - if RD makes good job about this, i think its great!

ahh... TYVM my good man. *bows*

actually, having previously played Yu-gi-oh! (where the exact wording of the text determines how an effect works) that's why I was 'somewhat confused a bit' there. I know WoW tcg is a totally different beast, but hey... no harm is asking to verify, yes?

besides, English isn't even my native tongue, which may have also contributed to the confusion as well.

anyway, moving onwards, I'm excited that UDE is now designing shops as cards (granted, it's now for catering to armor types), but since this block is supposed to improve class-based support, I was wondering if they might even include well-known class-based hangouts like The Slaughtered Lamb or Klannoc Macleod's very own Fray Island. should be awesome indeed :D

It seems like people are overlooking the fact, that Gurzom will prevent damage from rogue allies as well.

    That includes:
    Luppo
    Scrapper
    Alexi Barov
    Bloodblade
    Johnny Rotten
    The Retainers
    Skumm and Glad. Skumm
    Spelunker Maddocks

Re: Scourgewar Preview - Class Matters

So this guy was having dinner at a restaurant with a friend. He ended up having a seizure and collapsed on the floor. His friend freaked out and looked around the room and shouted "Is there a doctor in here?"

The two doctors at the other table looked at each other and declined to response, since there were at least 2 doctors there.

Lame example, but I don't know how much more I can dumb down the concept. =(

To be incredibtly technical, if there are two abilities in the graveyard, you cannot say there is an ability there - an ability is exactly one.

    I disagree.

There IS an ability in the graveyard. There is also another ability in the graveyard.

Another example: If there are 3 people in a room and you get asked "is someone in that room?" you would reply "yes" rather than "no, there are some people in that room".

Edit: Hmm, Lanky beat me to it and his response is hilarious. Use that :)

The difference is one is asking a question the other is a statement which makes all the grammatical difference. The card should read "If there are any abilities/allies..." since you wouldn't say "I have an ability and another ability and another ability and another ability" nor would you ever realistically say "I have an ability and other abilities", "I have an ability and some abilities", "I have some abilities and an ability" or any variation of that.

The question is asking if there is "someone" but doesn't imply further caring about additional someones. If there are three people in the room there is at least someone in the room which is all the question asked.

    http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/540/01/

"A" and "an" signal that the noun modified is indefinite, referring to any member of a group. For example:

"My daughter really wants a dog for Christmas." This refers to any dog. We don't know which dog because we haven't found the dog yet.

"Somebody call a policeman!" This refers to any policeman. We don't need a specific policeman; we need any policeman who is available.

"When I was at the zoo, I saw an elephant!" Here, we're talking about a single, non-specific thing, in this case an elephant. There are probably several elephants at the zoo, but there's only one we're talking about here.

Thanks to all of you for trying to clarify things for the reading impaired, but they are trolling and there's no reason to try to convince them. I'm sure it will be in the SW FAQ, even though it really doesn't need to be.

    Cheers.
