Re: Becoming a Certified WoW Judge

    1. What is "Flip"? How can i use a hero with "flip" power?
Just flip it over so the table facing side is now the facing up.  Once flipped, there is currently no way to "unflip" a hero or quest.
    2. What i am supposed to do if i want to change my weapon and other items? Should i destroy and put another weapon or i will just wait for my opponent to destroy it?
If you look just below the picture of an equipment card, on the right side of the card, you will see something like Melee(1).  This is a uniqueness tag.  That means that you can only one of that type in play at a given time.  If you ever have two in play, by playing another one or some other means, that causes a uniqueness violation and you must choose one to be destroyed.
3.How many allies i am allowed to put in play? Is it limited to 5 or any number i want  to?
You can have as many allies out as you can get out.  There is no limit.

I've taken this test twice both with the book and the online information, yet both times I've failed the test. Any suggestions?

I would take some time and read over the information found here on this site.  Ask questions.  We've got quite a few knowledgeable folks here that are more than willing to help you out!

Biggest thing would be to study that Comprehensive Rules and the FAQs.  If you know and understand those, then you should do well the next time you take the test.

Thanks, that's one thing I didn't do. I never looked over the comprehensive rules because I believed that you only needed the basic knowledge for it. I have though thoroughly read the rulebook.

Re: Becoming a Certified WoW Judge

    Hello

Got the "honor" to judge my local Regional Tournament  -- without even passed the first online test ...

The TO and Head Judge needed some other person to help judging-- as I were one of the most qualified person available with some knowledge of the rules, i said yes; and i've judged the event without problems.

So, how should i consider myself ?  Judge , not judge, or something else ?

Re: Becoming a Certified WoW Judge

Welcome to the forum!  You are a judge if you judge tournaments.  Rules Knowledge certifications give you a little bit of credibility, but you don't need it to judge (though active judges should get their certifications as quickly as possible).

You're a judge as long as you continue to judge, but you should take the LV1 test as soon as you can.

    Hello:

The Penalty Guidelines for Tournament Judges from UDE Website is like two years old (it says valid until Oct 2005).
Have they published a new guidelines since then? Where can I get them?

    Thank you.

    I was wondering...

I haven't seen this one answered yet, so I figured I'd ask.  For instances where a card says 'when you play a card, destroy this', my question is this:  Does PLACEing a resource count as PLAYing a card?

Nope. Placing a resource and playing a card are two distinct actions.

    Re: I was wondering...

Thanks for the hasty response!  I just picked this game up about a week ago (been an M:tG player for as long as I can remember...) and the entire system is just awesome.  And to think, I've never once logged on to the MMO.

    Judge Question

A quick question. Do judges need to meet some yearly requirements to keep being a Certified Judge. ie, as a MTG judge I have to judge atleast 5 tournaments a year or the DCI takes it away.

As far as I know, there is no requirement specifically noting a certain amount a person with a Rules knowledge certification has to judge in a calendar year.

    Re: Judge Question

Is there 2 types of certification? You said rules knowledge certification.  Is it different from a judge or are you just using a different words. I just want to make sure it's just one certification. Thanks.
