Anyone have any info regarding the Hobby League Beta events happening on 12/16-12/17.  Specifically, when are each of the bay area stores that are participating holding the tournaments.  Also, what will the match format be and how will prizes be distributed.  I am interested in getting a hold of some of the extended art cards that will be given away.  Any info would be appreciated

I've confirmed that Game Kastle has the HL Beta promos, and I believe the plan is to give them out during the Constructed event on Saturday at 4pm.  No info on the prize structure, but it will probably be similar to the structure suggested in the kit. (participation, runner up, winner)

  Just wanted to post a quick addition for all Bay Area players.  My name is Jaron Tomsky (jtomsky@hotmail.com), and I'm a devoted WoW player living in San Rafael. I was one of the heads in the crowd at GenCon SoCal this year, and I wanted to announce that I have started running a casual play event every Sunday from 1pm-5pm at the Gamescape in San Rafael (note that this is not the SF store of the same name).

  The store will be supporting sanctioned tournaments as soon as we get a feel for how many will be showing up each week, as soon as I or another local player gets official certification, so please pass the word along to those looking to play in the Marin County area.

  I realize that Sunday is a day that already has a lot of events lined up, but I noticed that this location is far enough away from the other stores that it shouldn't be a problem.  Hope to see some new faces soon, looking forward to some fun times!

I've returned to the land of card games and updated this calendar.  You better all go to regionals because I can't go.  boo hoo.

To anyone thinking about coming to games of berkeley on thursdays, we had a ton of fun this week with a spur of the moment draft tournament.  Six of us were getting ready to sit down for some casual play when one of the store employees suggested we draft.  We did 4 packs a piece for $15 in 4 rounds and had a very good time with three players going 3-1.  It's a great atmoshpere to play in and we were laughing our butts off.  I had the most frustrating game of the evening when I had three (yes 3!) polymorphs played against me in the first six turns.  I had sheep Lady Courtney Noel, Donna Callister, and Acolyte Demia, all three of which are great in draft.  And who's ever heard of someone drafting three copies of polymorph??

We're now running WOW TCG draft events at Eudemonia every Tuesday night, starting at around 6 PM and going until whenever.

$11 entry fee
Each player receives 4 packs to draft from
You draft and play 3 swiss matches.
Prizes : 5 packs for 1st, 2 packs for 2nd, 1 pack each for 3rd and 4th.

We are still deciding between best-of-three matches and one game matches. Most likely we will run single game matches to make the draft go faster, so there's time for people to draft again if they would like.

Draft signups start at 6pm every Tuesday and the draft will start whenever we get 8 players. If there is enough interest we will run a second draft as well.
