    Please keep the typos coming.  I'm updating as they are reported.  I will release version 4.0 once all filters are in, all typos are corrected, and digital images are available for HFI.  Thanks everyone for the help.

    Re: MWS Patch Version 3.1 - Hunt for Illidan and Crafted Cards

    Voidfire Wand is showing up also as an Artifact Creature.

    EDIT: More I"ve found

    Felsteel Reaper is showing up as an Artifact Creature as well
    Puncture is showing up as being Instant
    Mass of McGowan is showing as being Armor and not a Weapon

    Re: MWS Patch Version 3.1 - Hunt for Illidan and Crafted Cards

    Weapons and Armor from SotB and HFI, and the crafted database are now listed as Artifact Creatures intentionally.  This allows the ATK/Strike Cost and Armor values to be displayed in the the game window when playing, rather than having to click on each card to see the ATK/Strike Cost and Armor Value.  Puncture and Mass of McGowan I had missed, and are now corrected.  Please keep the typos coming, along with any other suggestions.  If they are within my power to do, I will attempt them.  As a note, card text cannot be added to the cards in the database.  Adding this data triples the size of the database file and makes downloading and uploading take forever.  This is the same reason we left off flavor text and artist as well.  Retroactively, all weapons and armor on old sets will be classified as Artifact Creatures.  Further, using the magic color scheme, a simple color filter will sort cards by type:

    Red = Horde,

    Blue = Alliance

    Gold = Neutral

    Green = Ability

    Black = Equipment

    Land = Quest

    You will notice these changes on SotB and HFI already.  Version 4.0 will see these changes added to all old sets.

    Re: MWS Patch Version 3.1 - Hunt for Illidan and Crafted Cards

    Hello, I'm new here to wow tcg boards.

    I decided to try and edit the Warcraft.mwBase file so it's easier to search for cards. You can try it out yourself (After installing the patch!), It can be downloaded here.

    http://rapidshare.com/files/128504014/WarcarftTCG_Patch3.1_Edited_Version.rar.html

    I haven't tested if this file works on other PCs but I assume it does, as long as you have the sets.

    Changes in file:

    Abilities, Equipments, Allies and Quests also include additional information on their type:
        * Aldor, Loyal, Scryer and Traitor requirement
        * Alliance and Horde requirement
        * Blood Elf, Draenei, Dwarf, Gnome, Human, Night Elf, Orc, Tauren, Troll and Undead requirement
        * Pets for Hunter, Warlock, Mage and Priest
        * Class Talent and Proffesion requirement
        * Heroes cards have their Class Specialization
        * Shields for Armor
        * Weapons are divided by Two Handed (2H), One Handed (1H) and Ranged
        * Instant, Unique and Unlimited Allies

    So now it is easier to find a card for your deck:
    If you play Alliance you don't have to look through all the Horde allies while searching for an ally, quest, or ability
    If you play Aldor Reputation you don't have to look through all the Scryer Reputation cards
    Fixed most (or all) of the typos so you'll no longer bump into Enchant Land instead of Instant Ability Affliction, or find Weapons between the Armors.

    Re: MWS Patch Version 3.1 - Hunt for Illidan and Crafted Cards

    I would ask that you not post variations on the masterbase and custom sets here.  This post is set up for version 3.1.  If people run 2 different versions of MWS, then players end up not being able to see the other players cards.  MWS relies on players running the same versions of custom sets and masterbases.  I've downloaded the edited version to take a look at.  I will attempt to incorporate what I can into version 4.0.  Some just aren't feasible though as it would create too large a file.  I appreciate any input on changes though.

    Re: MWS Patch Version 3.1 - Hunt for Illidan and Crafted Cards

    Tinytode,

    The file is only 60KB so I assume that whether or not someone can see the pictures depends on the sets (files of ~10 MB). The changes I have made are only text related and are there to help players in finding their cards. I hope that in your version 4.0 of the patch (which I am looking forward to), it will be easier to find the cards that you are looking for.

    For example, before editing I had some abilities as "instant - ability - feral" and some as "instant - feral", and same thing for sorcery. So when you look at all the available abilities for your hero, instead of looking at 6 different places (instant and sorcery of your 3 class talents) you need to look at 12 different places. Add to all those searches, the abilities that were enchanted land or artifact creature or even looked like "instant - ability -Marksmanship" instead of "instant - ability - Marksmanship", and you get my point.

    Some other thing I have been wondering about, why attached abilities can't be attached to other cards, like enchant creatures are attached to creatures in MTG?

    I really appreciate your work by the way. Your patch has provided me with hours of fun with the latest set :)

    Re: MWS Patch Version 3.1 - Hunt for Illidan and Crafted Cards

    When setting the tags lines, we need to stick with Magic labels at the forefront.  When in deck edit mode of MWS, the filter system only recognizes the Magic primary tags.  I tried doing "Ability - Feral" and the cards wouldn't appear in the deck list window.  We simply substituted the magic word for the WoW word, and everything works fine.  Now abilities are either "Sorcery or Instant".  We also added more description to the sub-tag line, like "Tauren - Druid" for allies and "Armor - Plate" for armor.  Also, as noted above, we added a "color" filter, assigning colors to card types.  When editing the master base file, it is not large to begin with.  But the custom sets are much larger.  If you add too much data, they become cumbersome to download.  We are adding as much as we can, while at the same time balancing the file size to a manageable point.  I do like what you did, and would like to test out if images are blank between sets.  Send me a PM, and I'll try to meet up and test the compatibility of your edited version and my version.  As I said, I'm always looking for ways to improve the sets.

    1311484:
    On another note, I still havent managed to get MWS to work with the HFI patch. From my experimentation it appears that the files are updated & in the correct places but MWS doesnt pick up the updated database with the Assign command.

    Personally I think it's Vista issues. Im going to copy a friends install over and see how it goes.

    Woodenman: I had the exact same problem you did. I don't know if you found an answer but I was able to get it working if I ran MWS as Administrator. Try it hopefully it works for you.

    Re: MWS Patch Version 3.1 - Hunt for Illidan and Crafted Cards

    i've been digging through the posts but didn't find an answer to the question :

    i've installed everything and as usual it works great (Go Tinytode!)  but mws doesn't find Xanata. It's listed in the library but it doesn't show her image and if it's in a deck it says that the card can't be found .

    i've tried to reinstall the mwbase and the sotb set but to no success. Any ideas?
