So looking on Ebay, it looks like one sold a few days ago for 200.00.  There's now one up for 150.00 Buy It Now and another one with no bids for 75.00.  I hadn't thought he'd go for more than 40.00 or so.  Maybe after Boston he'll settle down in price to about that range.

the only reason it's up that high is because people are stupid enough to buy it at that price

it's a piece of plastic.. seems to me it's not worth anything close to that.. i still stand by my $25 mark of what he's truely worth as a figure

I agree that I think that's where he ends up.  When figures first go up and they are one of a few up there the prices can go high.  A few years ago at Gencon, WOTC gave away a Black Robed Raistlin figure.  I got some on the first day and put them up as soon as I got back to the hotel that night.  By the morning I'd paid for my hotel room for the convention.  We'll see what happens after Boston though when alot more of them hit the market.

None's fault if they are stupid, their money, their problem; anyway we'll have em all in a couple of DMF for a reasonable prize imo

Seriously have you guys played competitive gaming before? you see the price of the mini so high because that if played right with the team you could top 8 and win the cash right back.
Some of you claim to play magic and if you look at the current winning decks from type 2 you'd have to spend 500 to 600 and those decks are played every week not just at major tournaments.
just be glad that mortimer hasn't won a major tournament if it had won either italy or australia would be for a lot more than 200

You are so getting ripped off at $500 for a mtg deck, probably the same with this guy at $150.

i'm sorry but paying $150-200 per mini to make a top 8.. is not a whorthwhile investment.. and depending on the prizes.. not even worth top 4

competive gaming or not.. there is no reason for people to think they need to pay that kind of money for plastic.. but when you obsess over a game too much (as some people do) they invest far too much money into somthing that's going to be worth like maybe $20-30 in about 3 months

i don't need mortimer that badly

Aren't they giving this guy away in Boston anyway?

Enter 3 events and you will have three.

That's what I think of the two guys who bought Tigers off me. I don't pay 1000$ to look cool in real life, much less an MMO. :P

And of course I'm trying to cash in, I'll get at least 3 of him at Boston and these tourneys don't pay for themselves... oh wait, for me often they do. :P

And it is totally supply and demand. A lot of the players from Turin wanted to keep 3 for themselves. I know *I'M* keeping 3 for myself. Then I have a buyer just on the local market *already* and it's already higher than DelusionalWarlock's estimate of 25$ or so. Much higher. So I don't think I'm even going to have anything left for eBay myself.

Correspondingly, all the collectors want one, and some people with more money then sense want three for the next big event.

Re: Mortimer the Malign: how much will you pay for it?

Ok I'm switching back to mort's playability not marketability. Mort has some advantages and disadvantages some shared by other locks some restricted to him alone. First of all his mobility is amazing and only hunter and tank teams have a chance to hurt mort's or to make the mort's to come to them. Secondly because they have little need for fear there action bar cards are open for Dots which combos well with there kite aspect. thirdly they have the ability to use the best pets in the game which makes them do well in warlock vs warlock.

some of the ways to beat it include 2 cleans or a mass dispel + high armor

    hunters would fare pretty well

and teams that keep them off the vp so the mort's need 5 kills

    Thanks for reading:)

P.S. you can change your signiture now blackboc

That's like the biggest ripoff in the world... unless you count traveling to the DMF, which is like a couple hundred dollars.

Yes I agree with Irana about it being overpriced. i could not imagine it going for 200$. I would pay 25$ max for it. It is a stellar piece but not worth 50 dollars.

that's exactly how i feel.. now if mortimer were on par with an epic piece i could see him being worth more..but not over $75... but he's not.. he's just a warlock with a cool teleport ability

also.. yes the first initial wave may be selling for this supply and demand.. but once all the hardcores (which there aren't that many) get their 3 for their sets.. the pieces aren't going to be selling.. and their price is going to drop dramatically

i only wish there was a DMF that was going to be near the west coast of North America and i'd probably attend one.. but it seems that all the DMF's are out east or on another continent altogether.. so unfortuneately i have to wait probably about 4-6 months or so before i can buy a mortimer for a price that he's truely worth
