The street date is 6 hours after the event finishes ^_^

or is it how fast some people can get to a computer and post them up on ebay? ;)

Haha, don't you mean take the lappy with you, get your sealed stuff and then high-tail it to the local Macdonalds for the wireless?

Re: Upper Deck UK: Launch Event Locations confirmed!

Originally I was going to collect the cards for the sake of collecting them.

But now I've decided what the hell, might as well take part in the organised events, and meet people another way that Work or Team Speak :)

So I'm going to the Birmingham event, but so far not found any confirmation of times beyond the estimate placed earlier in this post. Any news would be useful.

The times quoted is what I learn from a phone call to the organisers themselves. If you rather contact them yourself, their contact details can be found here: The Place for Games Contact Info and the guy organising the Brum event is Carl Crook I believe.

On a slightly different note, if people enjoy the game etc some of us may want to organise a get together at some point in the future to run the Onyxia Raid Deck as well (Unless there are going to official Onyxia raid events ;)). This could be quite fun i think since instead of a 1 v 1 game its several ppl v 1 big flying rat :p

P.S. Out of interest Wispcat, where in Leicester you from? I used to go to uni there :p

P.P.S. If anyone is unsure of how to get to the Custard Factory from either Moor Street Station or Birmingham New Street in the morning (since that is when I will be going down) I'd be happy to meet up with them and walk down to it with them. Its not actually that far and is pretty easy to get to.Here is a map with Gibb Street indicated which might be helpful for some people :) Map to the Custard Factory If in doubt just pester someone nearby :p

Re: Upper Deck UK: Launch Event Locations confirmed!

That would be a neat idea actually. I'm not sure how long it takes the train to get to new street (I know the bus to Wolvo takes me around 15 minutes if it's not late), so i'm not sure what time i'd get there by, but at the extreme we could always swap mobile numbers and text when we are at new street. Means we can all go "howdy!" and maybe grab a coffee or something to take with us to the event.

Oh yeah. What else should be bring btw? I'm going to bring my DS (obviously) for the train trips, cash for food/drink/event, a bottle of water just incase, but what about things like sleeves? The first Magic Pre-Release i did, by the time we'd finished for the night my cards were grotty. I could russle up some pink deck-protectors but they've been used a few times. Will there be deck protectors to buy there?

Re: Upper Deck UK: Launch Event Locations confirmed!

A packed lunch and something to drink would probably be a good idea, but we will be in the middle of birmingham city centre so there will be places nearby for you to buy stuff if you prefer.

I plan to bring some sleeves to play in, since I pretty much always do. We will only be able to buy sleeves there if a trader is present. Since The Place for Games also sell products as well, I am making an educated guess that they might bring sleeves to sell and other accessories as well.

Another thing that would be useful is some way of recording your hero's and allies life totals. Either dice or some of those glass counters would be ideal for that since the values would be changing frequently in the game. At the worse you could probably use pen & paper for your hero and maybe some coins for the ally's but that can be a bit akward.

Reading the rulebook again its says sealed deck format is a 30 card deck + Hero, with the rest of the cards being the side deck. I'll need to check the release announcements to see if this is correct.

I'm not 100% sure what time I'll be getting to New Street on Saturday as of yet since I know that there is engineering work between Redditch & New Street so I will have to most likely be relying partially on a replacement bus service, but will check the times and post on here once I can make an estimate.

Re: Upper Deck UK: Launch Event Locations confirmed!

I'll probably bring a drink/food, the last time i was in Brum, i had some darn beautiful kebab and chips with Pink (!) sauce, (By Nostalgia and Comics), but i'm on a diet, and that kind of thing will kill me ;P

I'll bring my pink sleeves, i should have 40 left over from the magic tourney at least that haven't been used,  and i should have some dice for life totals. I really should have bought those glass beads i saw in a charity shop!

Re: Upper Deck UK: Launch Event Locations confirmed!

This is a quick reminder inviting UK and Ireland players to come along this weekend to partake in one of these Launch Events.

As a rule of thumb doors will open between 9am and 10am and close at 6pm (with the exception of Dublin which closes at 10pm)

And yes, if there is enough demand, we can run 60 card constructed tournaments as well!

Gonna try to be at the Edinburgh one. :D What are the costs of the cards?

Re: Upper Deck UK: Launch Event Locations confirmed!

Woo. I'm not gonna be the only one at the Edinburgh one at this rate. ^_^

I'd guess costs would be the same as the TPfG run ones down in Brum and London this weekend - £10 for the basic preconstructed deck tourney and  £15-£20 for the sealed event.

Re: Upper Deck UK: Launch Event Locations confirmed!

I'm worried we'll have enough players though. So far there's 3 people from here going to the Birmingham event. It would not be amusing if that's all that turns up, especially as they need 16 to start the tourneys.
