    Re: Kel thuzad

If he says opposing zones, you won't be able to steal a guy off the chain, unfortunately. It would be way cooler if he could.

KT 'supposedly' says to 'check his zones'.

"Checking his zones", eh?  So that's what they're calling it these days.

    That's what she said.

They gave me some judge levels or something, too...

    Re: Kel thuzad

The other ruling we were talking about at realms was this.

If my hero is Kel'thuzad and I play Kel'thuzad does the ability go off again.

We had valid arguments for Yes and No.

Yes- It's a comes into play effect. Becoming Kel'thuzad references the card itself and doesn't check what your hero is as the card is played.

No- They are changing the way a lot of wording is done and this could be a new change. Your hero is already Kel'thuzad so it won't trigger.

Without the card text it's impossible to say. This will probably be covered in the FAQ anyway.

True story. It depends on what the card text is. If it says when you become Kel'thuzad, I'm pretty sure you won't be able to use the power again: [something] only becomes [something] if it wasn't [something] before. Take exhausting: an ally can only become exhausted if it was ready first. If you are Kel'thuzad and play a new one, you're not becoming him because you were already him. But, he could say when he comes into play, in which case he would trigger again. Or, there could be completely new rules that say something completely different.

    WTB FAQ.

    Re: Kel thuzad

Well if it says "When your hero becomes Kel'thuzad", remember when a card uses its own name in its text, it's saying "this card".

So, "When your hero becomes Kel'thuzad" is saying "When your hero becomes this card". So it would trigger when you played a 2nd copy, because its a new card.

But again, we have to wait to see the actual text, see the FAQ, and any CR updates. Too early to say anything for sure.

    Re: Kel thuzad

Sargeras told me in a dream that the text in the card says: "When your hero becomes Kel'Thuzad, target an opponent. Gain control of an ally he controls. Search his zones for one ally each and put any number of them into play."
Blessing of Salvation certainly will stop that.
Does this mean that from now the only decks we will see are Kel'Thuzad decks or paladin's?
    How boring! 8-)

The only thing I win is honor...

Varanis and Vorna lists have had success with few to no allies. Solo decks also don't care about Kel. It's a great card that will cause changes in the meta game but there are several ways to make him pointless.

    No, you can't.
    Comprehensive Rules:
100.2e A deck can include a Master hero with a certain name only if it contains no Master heroes with any other name.

3 atk and 33 health is nothing to sneeze at. With his effect? Rape. Without? Pain. Either way, far from pointless.
