Seems like some of my UDE codes were already entered by other people, too. Sad.

I've had that happen as well. I'm not sure what the deal is but every once in a while one of my codes isn't valid, even though I know i typed it in properly.

It actually told me that someone else entered it. They were the cards out of the official WoW card binders. Those cards were inserted manually by someone. Someone stole the codes off the stuff their own company was selling, knowing that a customer would get it someday. I wonder if I should call someone. I'm sure it's not the company's fault and they'd like to know.

ANYWAY, I don't want to get off track here. A couple hundred UDE points is not a huge deal. It's funny, I am like 70% of the way to that ogre item already.

Re: A new player: What would you do?

I think I have a decent grasp of the game now. I love how you don't have to stress about resource cards like I used to have to do back 10+ years ago with Magic. Being able to potentially use any card as a resource if you get a bad draw is wonderful. I remember not getting land cards on MtG and how debilitating that was.

I started organizing my cards mostly into the starter boxes and some plastic cases I used to use for Neo-Geo arcade carts. I have TONS of cards, just an absolute boatload of cards, so I organized them into the following groups so far:

1 box for each class. These are cards that are class specific, including heroes and abilities and sometimes gear.

    1 box for quests

    1 box for equipment

1 box for allies costing 1-2 resources

1 box for allies costing 3-4 resources

1 box for allies costing 5+ resources

    1 small box for land

    etc etc etc.

Hopefully I can build a nice deck easily with the cards sorted out in this manner. I may switch it around a bit, but you get the idea.

With demon heroes, can I just make a deck based off of them? What's the deal with that? I have this hero, "Obliveron". He can have any number of pets. I think him + a bunch of Hesrianas could be really powerful, for example.

The text on the front of Obliveron is his power. This text means he can have multiple Hesriana's on the field at once, but doesn't mean you can put more than 4 in your deck.
His deckbuilding rules are on the back, titled "Deckbuilding".

Props to darknesspwns for the sig

Oh yeah, I know that you can't have more than 4. I guess I will read the manual that came with that set. I got so many at once that I'm not 100% sure what even goes to what. I opened them all madly excited to see what I got, then put them in piles and read the Death Knight rules book.

Re: A new player: What would you do?

I have one of those binders.  I use it to store rares/epics/loot for trade so potential trading partners can look for anything they may want more easily.

The demon heroes have different deckbuilding restrictions than normal heroes.  It outlines what you can use on the card, but they can still be pretty confusing.  Obliveron can run ANY demon ally (unless the ally says "Demonology Only" or some other restriction), ONLY neutral quests, NO locations, and ANY ability or other card (such as ally) that is "Traitor Only."

I run an Obliveron deck.  Hesriana is very good in that deck.  Hesriana is one of the hottest cards right now by the way, so congrats if you pulled multiples of them.  I've found the best way to play Obliveron is as an aggressive deck.  A lot of the demon pets have above average stats for their cost, so running them together gives you a strong ally curve.  Thulthun is a 3/3 for 2 cost, Apocanon is a 4/4 for 3 cost, and Phase Hound is a 5/5 for 4 cost.  Warbringer Arix'amai is also very good since he gives all your demons +2 attack (including your hero!).  Traitor abilities are usually very strong too.  Gut Shot, Tidal Burst, Form of the Serpent, and others are some great cards.  I run Orders from Lady Vashj, One Draenei's Junk..., and Falling to Corruption in the quest line-up.  Obliveron is good, but he doesn't really have very good equipment/ability removal (Arcing Smash is fairly good for equipment, but Priestess of Dementia is kind of overcosted), making him suspectible to solo decks like Paladin and Warrior.  He's fun though.  Nothing like swarming demons :-).

    Click for trades!!! ^___^
