I love the detailed list of warcraft minis coming in 2010 and how much communication UDE has had on the subject of this game. If the game was not being cancelled after dec i would expect some sort of response or news.

You expect a UDE person to post in this thread saying no wow minis isn't dead? I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be happy with that either.

I would be very happy to hear some good news as i think this is the best game ever to play and has great mechanics, but the overriding evidence suggests we are looking at a 2010 death notice.

no battleground support since may, no murloc shorestriker from nationals. spectral tiger tournament last march was the last local tournament. duplicate prize support of deathwatcher for realm season 4 if was supposed to exclusive to season 3. these are just a few of the signs of no pulse

Aside from special tournaments, like the Spectral Safari, Upper Deck doesn't organize local events. Go take the level 1 TO test and organize your own local events.

Re: Is WoW Minis on the chopping block

    Guys, seriously.

Look I know it's funny to laugh and point at mongoloids on the forum, and I'm sure the cheerleading in support of this game is much appreciated, but c'mon.  It's been far too long since Spoils, the game cannot be financially stable.  Despite the production delays, UDE still has to write checks to the design team, the webmaster, the people doing negotiations for the hypothetical 3rd set, etc.  Have you seen the RC reports?  There's not going to be 100 total for all the North American RCs combined.  UDE certainly sees those numbers.

Now if you're UDE and you haven't collected a large spike of income since April/May, and you've sunk months of costs into design and whatnot, and you're faced with another 3-6 months of sunk costs with no income, not to mention the overwhelming cost of printing a new set and hoping all these lost players return or just cutting your losses and moving on, which do you realistically choose?

UDE doesn't care about your personal attachment to the game.  It's not a mean, cruel, evil corporation thing, it's just business.  Just like adults irrationally spend thousands of dollars to keep their sickly parents alive for a few extra months, in a futile attempt to not lose what they care about so much, the players who like this game act like UDE would be crazy to not continue throwing money down a hole because they so desperately want to see a 3rd set.

I think it should be obvious to most that they are going to let the OP schedule play out, then close the game down, citing low player numbers.  I hope the U-Base mechanics are retained for another game because personally I think the game is mechanically sound, just poorly designed and play tested.  If you relaunched this as essentially the exact same game with a new license I'd be excited, but I think for now everyone needs to accept that WoW Minis as we know it will be discontinued officially sometime after the New Year.

All I'm saying is the official word is that the next set is coming out some time early next year.  Its not like I'm wasting any more money right now waiting for it to come out, so why not wait for that set to come out.  If it never makes it, I have lost nothing.

On the other hand, I could go around screaming to everyone that the game is on the chopping block and piss in their cheerios while I'm at it, but what good does that do?

So, yeah, until official word changes, I'll be expecting a new set in 2010.

Pretty much this. To quote Ivan Drago:

    "If he dies, he dies."

I haven't spent any money on WoW minis products since early summer, with the exception of entrance fees to the two tournaments that have ran since then. And I won enough at both to make that fee back, so...

Besides, I am goofy enough that I can enjoy my brightly painted pieces of plastic even if there won't be an officially sanctioned game behind them anymore.

Actually all WoW minis are implanted with a highly classified biochemical compound which, upon issuance of the official end-of-game-production notice, causes each mini to dissolve into a pile of writhing maggots.  I implore you to put all of your minis on eBay at a cut-rate price immediately, so that i may purchase them & dispose of them in an environmentally safe EPA-approved manner.
