Re: Becoming a Certified WoW Judge

    Hi all,

Good news. UDE will be offering a way to register for a player number online in the future.
I don't have a date for this yet, as the need was just identified with the help of all the player feedback I've received.

I'll keep you posted on this, and in the meantime please feel free to send me any other good suggestions you have.

    Thanks,

Re: Becoming a Certified WoW Judge

If you would like to run Sanctioned UDE events, you'll need to also pass the Tournament Organizer certification.  You could also run non-sanctioned events by just getting a group of players together.  I would suggest discussing things with your Friendly Local Gaming Store and see how they would like things to be run.  Who knows, they may have a T.O. already on staff.

    Hi Grazatron,

    Check out this page http://www.upperdeckentertainment.com/op/
You'll need to download a copy of MANTIS, the tournament software and use it for all sanctioned tournaments you run.
Also, I recommend reading the "Tournament FAQs" section.

As Ripark mentioned, you'll need to pass the Tournament Organizer test but then you'll be all set to run sanctioned tournaments in your venue.

Yes, sometime in the 'near' future, you will receive your Judge Certification Card from Upperdeck.

Re: Becoming a Certified WoW Judge

Question: What if anything can people living outside of the US and Europe do to get their Level 2 Judge Certifications? Flying out to the US/Europe  from where I stay is more then a little bit impractical unfortunetly.

Re: Becoming a Certified WoW Judge

From the UDE Certification Program FAQ:
    6. How do I test for levels beyond Level 1 Judge?
Only Level 1 Judge tests are offered online. Levels 2 and higher are more difficult and require an in-person interview and skill test by a higher-level judge. You will be able to test for higher levels at most UDE events, conventions, and premier tournaments. We’ll have a list of those events available online. As our program continues to grow, more certification opportunities will become available.

Any more word on this?  There are some people here in my town that would like to get organized tournements going, but need a certified judge.  Until the online registration is ready, is there a person I can message or e-mail to get one?

Re: Becoming a Certified WoW Judge

Are there any rules, or things to note, for judges to participate in sanctioned events? Like tournaments?

Or is does "Judge lvl X" basically mean you know the rules and have authority on rulings to X level?
