Wrathgate's Master Hero will be Alexstrasza (got to love dragons).

As for the gap between sets, I'm pretty sure that Realms Season 5 is going to be 2 Block.

Please let it be Heroes/March 2-block!  I don't want to play in another tournament that involves the word "block" and "drums" ever again!

    Dibs on Kil'zin.

Just keep adding syllables. I'll tell you when to stop.

    Rather not.

Organized Play Season 5 Realm Qualifiers:
Format: From November 28 to January 24, the events will be Scourgewar Sealed format. From January 30 to March 14, the events will be Constructed format.

Really, was it that bad? As long as they realized how slow Drums block was and put better agro cards and less crappy quests in Scourgewar, it should be fine.

But hey, if living in the past and dealing with a meta of Black Ice, Varanis, Kil'zin, and Illidan is your thing, go right ahead.

The coolest thing in the article is that the Scourgewar Epic set is November, not December as previously stated. COOL!! Cheers.

Sorry... that's an error in the article.  The Epic Collection is due out 12/8, a short two weeks after Scourgewar boosters launch.  We were hoping to move it in to November, but it didn't work out unfortunately.

Isn't anyone wondering what they mean with "updated King Magni Bronzebeard and Lady Silvanas Windrunner"?

Is it just art, or have their abilities been empowered? Like King Magni creating 1d6 2/2 tokens or gving other extras to dwarves, aside from protector. And lady Silvanas herself having Will of the Forsaken on top of her old abilities (which would actually make the card playable without making it overpowered) This is actually what I am hoping for. This would really make Undead only decks good.

I'm also curious to these new faction only quests.

Magni and Sylvanas will be new versions (new art and new gameplay).

Awwwwwwww. Never mind. Thanks for getting all the information out, and letting us know it's 12/8.

    Cheers.

Cool, but this is somewhat disappointing. This shows how little is coming out.

Doesn't seem that far away from the ordinary to me. There's a release history on the card game's Wiki and the perspective that the page lends doesn't make 2010's landscape of upcoming releases seem that sparse at all.

    • November 2009 – Scourgewar Boosters
    • November 2009 – Scourgewar Epic Collection
    • December 2009 – Naxxramas Raid Deck & Treasure Pack
    • March 2010 – Class Decks
    • April 2010 – Wrathgate Boosters
    • July 2010 – Icecrown Boosters
    • Winter 2010 – Icecrown Citadel Raid Deck & Treasure Pack

The only big wait is going to be from Scourgewar to Wrathgate (as someone pointed out around 5 months, where the downtime between sets is typically only 4). Class decks as the other release between Naxx and Wrathgate does seem a bit less than exciting, but new quests and possibly redone versions of Magni and Sylvannas strike me alright.

Oh I meant just in the course of a year. I knew this was typical of a year, but I never considered in that long of a span. Something that does seem long though, if this list is complete for the year, then it's July 2010 to at least Jan 2011 for the block afterwards (maybe even longer given the winter slowdown).

There are more products planned for 2010 than just those listed.  It's a little too early to begin talking about the block after Wrath of the Lich King, for example.  As the article hints at, there are a few other surprises that we want to keep for later.

    Source please?

Our playgroup is absoloutely excited about the upcoming booster block and raid decks. We can't wait to hear more of the surprises, as I wonder if they have anything to do with Deathwing. I think the class starter deck idea is brilliant, and will get people to "try" the card game. This will make it easier to pick people up into our group.

    I love dragons.

Also, for Sapphireknight, the Scourge don't really have anything to do with Ulduar or any of that storyline, so they won't be a part of these three sets.

    Will they be named equally?

With other words, we can't play both versions?

This is actually awesome news, as long as they don't lose their old flavour too much.

    AWESOME!
