You know, I felt pretty damn crushed to learn that I wasnt selected for hotel sponsorship to judge at DMF Boston. Had I gone to Skey before mistakingly doing what PTO Miranda Anderson said about emailing Judge at upperdeck dot com, he said it could have been worked out.
Now I'm trying to figure out the logistics of how to get there and stay close enough to the venue to not need a cab every morning to be there at 8 each day. The cab to and from the air port basically breaks my savings account based on projections provided by UDE so far.
I spent about 35 hours a week studying Tournament Policy, Penalty guidelines, and how to be a better player manager, each week since my return from DMF Charlotte. I shaped my entire month of July around judging at Boston after hearing from Miranda that I sounded like a good candidate for sponsorship. I know a lot of words in this life, and I am a writer at heart, so when I say that I cannot fully express to you how crestfallen I was to learn I wasn't accepted as a judge for WoW Minis, please understand it leaves me questioning my future with this game.
Who exactly was chosen that a man willing to drive 12 hours one way to judge at DMF Charlotte and who has been studying for weeks and months to be a better judge gets left out?
Oh, I did manage to convince her, with Skey's help, to let me work the floor of the event, and I have the money for my ticket going into the bank monday. Now I just have to figure out the logistics of how to get around to and from the event and where to curl up at night. Imposing on RoarkSlader seems rough, and I'd rather room with judges who might be on similar sleep schedules. I dont know how late players are Charlotte stayed up testing or stayed out socializing. If nothing else, he graciously offered me floor space, and honestly, that's all I'm asking for.
I just want to judge.
