So Rogues get something that can be played for one, strike for one, and returns to hand ("handy" for options). Two resources spent (for both cost and attack)

    While hunters got....

For 5 resources for cost and strike, I see something really wrong here...

You do realize you're comparing two cards that have nothing to do with one another from two sets released a year and a half apart, right?

The argument is still valid when you look at some of the more recent hunter ranged weapons, though. Skyfire, Wrathtide, etc; They're basically all trash - Weak equipment for limited, and unusable for constructed play. Looking at the throwing knives in comparison, there's something wrong.

Hunters also, however, have blastershot launcher, which is still pretty solid and will remain a great card for a while. More to the point, rogues don't have many cards which synergize with the ranged slot. (although they probably will soon) Plus we don't know what toys hunters will get in HFI. So don't get too worried.

the knives give rogue a form of the prowl/vengence combo with Reflex blades.

I don't know about you but I reached top 2 in DMF Columbus by picking Skyfire high and using it to help me make favorable trades without taking damage. All the ranged weapons in the game so far have been extremely strong in limited (Dwarven Hand Cannon being the exception).

I like all of those for draft. I think Velnoth will be a major pain to deal with, and Crush Soul can be clutch in the right situation.

I am going to go as far as saying these throwing knives will be the "shadowfiend" of rogue.

My point stands, this card is an absolutely disgusting bomb in limited and grossly overpowered in constructed even without some sort of bonus card (but you know there will be). They already have the eye of rends and surprise attacks. Pay 2 points for 2 damage every turn. Why couldn't mages get some sort of ability or wand that's just as powerful?

Edit: A shadow fiend with no hit point too. While you can zap a shadow fiend any sort of instant or out right destroy it, the knife is a little tougher, tatulla can't seem to touch it. True you will have to act with your hero and it does one less with no extra effect, in the end it's still much more sleeker than the shadow fiend.

Yeah, it is a bomb in Limited. In fact, it's "drawback" of returning to your hand isn't a drawback at all - it's an advantage because (played correctly) it won'tt be killed by Puncture, Stella Forgebane, Natural Order, or Acid Hands MicGillicuty. The only easy way to effectively kill it in draft is Smash. That's not a lot of outs. Good thing it's a Rare and not an uncommon...

Exactly, the game has little in the ways of instant equipment destruction. The knife will see play the entire game.

It's definitely a bomb in limited.  In constructed, though, I don't think it's that overpowered.  It's not just pay 2 to do 2; it's pay 2 and exhaust your hero to do 2.  For a class that likes to attack with pumped up dual wielded daggers, needing to exhaust seems like a bit of a drawback, especially since most of the allies that see play in constructed have more than 2 health.

There's Nether Fracture and Wreck as well, but Wreck is unlikely to see play in Draft. And the chances of anyone playing Mage without Fuel for the Fire in their first pack is low.
