    Upper Deck lost the lawsuit

So, what is going to become of the WoW tcg, now that UDE lost it's contract or whatever with konami? Guess WoW TCG is pretty much screwed. Then I heard rumors of Wizards trying to get a hold of WoW TCG. Whatever, I think WoW is going down the drain imho. WoW TCG will either die or Wizards will pick it up and make it just like magic with a new block every 2 years, idk about you all but that makes wanna quit playing WoW tcg altogether.

I'm pretty sure that UDE's contract with Konami will only affect Yu-gi-oh.

Congratulations Mr. Jack Fejer for getting engaged (:D!!!) and possibly making Day 2 Worlds. Still not entirely sure which is more of a miracle.

actually this is best case scenario.

Now we won't have qualifiers where we have to share space with hundreds of preteens and people who should be ashamed to hang out with preteens.

I heard the entire organized play aspect got screwed up big time, plus everyone's ratings got deleted.

Maybe they'll finally realise and start playing a proper, well balanced game.

Seriously this is the wrong way to approach this.  You are absolutely wrong.  This is the worst case scenario.  Yu-Gi-Moms are like the best thing to ever happen to the gaming world.  It's the sole reason I went to Gen Con this year, and I spent most of my time hanging out in the YGO area despite not knowing how to play the game.

Either way, someone told me Konami is doing better than ever with their OP program.  So maybe it is better for them.

Re: Upper Deck lost the lawsuit

Upper Deck loosing access to Yugioh was a big hit; however, it pales in comparison to them loosing their contract with Major League Baseball.

Sports cards have always been thier bread and butter and this turn of events has me far more worried for the future.  I'm trying to be positive though.  This could mean more focus on the wowtcg, which mechanically, is the best game going right now.  Also, the worlds prizes are by far the deepest I've seen yet and they haven't given any indication that they are going to discontinue the wowtcg.  The loot cards have proven to be immensely popular and they have that exclusive lifetime license with blizzard, so I can't see any reason why the game would stop being printed given that, but that's just my opinion.

Re: Upper Deck lost the lawsuit

UDE has a renewed agreement with the MLBPA...they just can't put anything trademarked on their cards.  An SI interview with UDE regarding this matter was recently printed.  They still have a huge stockpile of supplies for printing sports cards...game worn jerseys for jersey cards, for example.  They may just need to go really old school with sport cards and use artwork...not sure how that would fly with sports cards fans.
Greatest WoW TCG achievement...qualified for the WoW Invitational!!

Re: Upper Deck lost the lawsuit

i think the split was for the best , as both ude and konami have enough support to keep going and it will give them both a chance to focus on op for this and YGO respectively

well i wasn't on the site all summer what did i miss
