Party All the Time: The Notorious BIG

Party All the Time: The Notorious BIG
    By Tony Faber

There’s been a bit of talk lately about BIG coming back into the metagame, as Hunters and physical damage parties have grown more common.

I sort of agree with Tony on this one. BIG has had it's run, but it is not worth all of that hate in the article. I mean, I piloted it in DMF san fran, and beat out HTH in the first championship round. I think it is a tier two team, though. The parties over, BIG fans.

The lone BIG player at Turin made us all nostalgic... and sympathetic.

The real problem about BIG is the I, which messes up the defenses of the party. Bolvar would be a lot more awesome if there was a decent Moonkin druid for Alliance.

Re: Party All the Time: The Notorious BIG

As I noted, Irana does indeed mess up the defense of the party, but even if you had a Morova on the Alliance side, I'm not sure you'd improve things all that much. Your damage output would be even lower, your honor would be higher, you'd lose magic damage capacity, and most importantly, you couldn't bring back Bolvar's Ret.

Was that an article or a funeral for a dead team? I miss that.

While I like piloting BIG or any variant, unfortunately, what Tony is stating in the article is right on the dot.  If you don't lose by points, you usually lose by time.

Maybe in future sets, a new mini will come up to replace I.... We'll have to see...

Re: Party All the Time: The Notorious BIG

Any ally with 1 Defense is a huge liability for Graccus, as he starts taking hits like a clothie would. My favorite part of the Goblin Fog vs BIG matchup is to rip through an Irana with Graccus support with my Shredder and just send 4 damage to Graccus on a crit, maybe more if he flubs his own defense on the crit area attack.

Against Vashj it's just BAD. You just shoot Irana with melee until Graccus is close enough to the 2 health threshold that it dies from one magic attack, and you can plausibly kill both in one tick.

As for Bolvar's Retribution, it suffers from the problem that it basically meshes badly with Bolvar's own main attack.

If anything, Savin Wall + Irana/Bolvar would probably be a better idea.

Re: Party All the Time: The Notorious BIG

I think u need to calm down on anti BIG. First of all your pallies are always screening irana so range and melee will have trouble getting to you so your vashj arguments become weaker and I admit it would have trouble with shredders specifically if they had buzzsaw and fog but it is still a decent team.
