    Pre-release ends......Articles Cease

I've been bothered by this for awhile now.  All this hype and traffic begin whenever a new set comes out but then as soon as the pre release ends, articles just vanish.

I am a wow tcg player, and not an online gamer.  So I can't just go back and get my wow fix like most of the rest can.

So UDE if you like, I am willing write articles, just give me a topic and an address to send them to.

Give'em a break. It's DMF Turin this weekend. Hopefully, you can get your fix from that.

    Cheers.

I am sure if the article would include a new card it would have more trafic then any other article , no matter how bad it would be written ....

half the people (maybe 90%  ) that were making the trafic never read the articles ... I am sure ... just scrolled down and saw the cards , then went about their daily business

but it would certainly be fun to have article contests each week or something ^^

The site previews really throw a kink in the writers' schedules.  Normally, we have a weekly deadline, but with the previews, sometimes we have more than one article in a short span or less than normal.  The week after previews is when we usually settle back into a normal schedule and things should start normally again this week.

It takes a while to adjust.  Articles usually take about a week from submission to appear on the front page, so once the previews stop we (the writers) have to wait to see the rest of the spoiler just like everyone else.  Then once the spoiler is available, we have to actually write the article.  I completed an article last monday, and when it goes up later this week there will a steady stream again.  The system just creates a hiccup and theres not much we can do about it, aside from write lame articles about an old format that you will just complain about instead.

Hmmm, if people is bored and hungry for articles about the game I think I could write a few on areas where I'm undoubtedly, the best.

I could perfectly write on how to never win a game, even when your opponent is hitting her/his own hero.
Or how to drop the right card at the wrong time and how to ruin the best combo...

I suppose people won't be interested on these, though... 8-)
The only thing I win is honor...

Also, it doesn't help when one of the writers catches the swine flu for a week and misses his first deadline after previews.

    H1N1 for the loss.

Remember that Will is also in Sydney watching rugby with Damien at the moment, so he won't be directly online until the Darkmoon Faire this weekend. That said, all articles are coded into the site to go online at specific times/dates, so chances are articles are loaded and will come up as the week goes on.

How do you miss a deadline for writing an article when you catch something that forces you to stay home for a few days?

    Re: Pre-release ends......Articles Cease

Alright as Promised here is my Article.  I would have titled it: "A lesson in surging"

With each new set comes a horde of new playable cards that will be sorted, Weighed, and measured.  Already speculation on new achetypes has been bubbling on forums- Will Blackice be replaced? Is this combo better than Varanis? These are questions all competitive players will be asking themselves and while doing so planning for that inevitable rogue deck that they might see at a DMF or Qualifyer.

Today I am presenting you with a return of an old archetype that got new fuel- Cat form

Concept:  Most tournament worthy catform decks feature the tried and true combo of Catform + Vebgeance of the Illidari + Prowl.  You would play out vengeance and then repeat play prowl for a swarm of attacks in cat form for the win.  As with many solo decks if you take out their main strategy; you essentially have won.

With FoH Horde Catform deck received a healthy boost in the common ally Dannon Spellsurge. (Insert your own Yogurt joke here) Dannon is a 0/3 protecting Ally for 1 that gains +2 attack for each ability you play that turn.  If he is in play when you perform your prowl combo, you can target their allies with your attacks all while building for a dangerous Dannon “the cannon” attack.  Here is a sample deck list that could capitalize on this concept.

    Kauno Stonehoof

    Abilities

    4 Master Instinct

    4 Shred

    3 Swipe

    2 Pack Tactics

    2 Savage Fury

    4 Predatory Strikes

    3 Chew Toy

    4 Prowl

    Allies

    4 Snig Feralsnout

    4 Dannon Spellsurge

    3 Horkin Figluster

    3 Shadalla

    Equipment

    3 Vengeance of the Illidari

    Quests

    4 Ring of Blood: Brokentoe

3 Finkle, Einhorn at your service

    4 Information Gathering

    4 Forces of Jaedenar

    1 Retribution of the Light

    Locations

    2 Twinspire Ruins

For Sideboard options I believe the only main inclusion I will suggest is illusionary rod.  Considering the current meta of rogue and Warlock decks, This card will be invaluable in setting up the combo. I will leave the rest up to you fellow deck builders.

As you can see this deck combines the use of cheap, powerful allies and efficient abilities. As with any other deck this will have good an bad matches.  I look forward to continuing the decks discussion on the forums.
