Everyone remembers Shadow Weaving and the minor havoc it wreaked on the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game metagame for a short time. Does anyone remember its counterpart on the Paladin side, Sanctity Aura?

grandma deadsie, either i missed it in the article or this was completely overlooked. for a cost of 3 she becomes a 3/1 mini tank, running over allies left and right and no burn spell or combat damage can take her down. you need pure removal for her. also i believe there is a 4 drop ally that readys when you play an ability with a nice little key word...protector, allowing you to go aggro and then leaving him ready to protect for the next turn...or you can just inspire him with one of your aldor buddies. goes a little somthin like this...

    turn 3 :deadsie

turn 4: drop 4 protector, attack with deadsie 1 dmg

turn 5 swing with protector 2dmg, play sanctity, ready protector swing for 4 dmg, play blessings of the martyr on deadsie and ready protector again swinging in for another 4, then swinging in with deadsie for 5...and if they do manage to kill her because of the blessing she will pop back into your hand.

total damage on turn 5: 15dmg

then again, what would i know?

sanctity aura makes divine plea very useful.

Pay 4 and wipe your board and draw two cards for my random blessing?

Both solid options also. I feel a little silly to have overlooked Divine Plea, given that it was my preview article!

Congrads on being thread number 666 =)

I think the reason this card was overlooked was because shadowfiend was just in everyones face and the synergy was just there along with morlug and company and this kind of fell by the wayside.

Now we have soem fantastic aldor allies that just mesh so well so maybe this card might see some action, im not holding my breath but maybe.

Re: One Card at a Time: Sanctity Aura

I've got a friend who is running a Sancity Aura deck at a regionals tommorow. I gave him a test game against my Aleyah Control, and it gave me a fair run for my money. I stabilised at 20 damage and knew he had 2 Hammer of Wraths in hand. Some well timed Arcane Torrents helped me pull through.

Very underated card, although I wouldn't really compare it to Shadow Weaving. Weaving had great synergy with Shadowfiend and friends in the Omedus aggro deck, whereas there are no big combos for Sancity Aura (nothing to the level of Morlug/Weaving, anyway).

My buddy has been running a horde version of this for quite some time and you missed one awesome ally: Lessa the Awakener. :)
