    Looking Ahead to Vegas

Thank you, UDE events organizers, for eliminating 3x Mortimers (or 3x anything, for that matter) from contention.  Tri-color constructed will be a hoot!

I'm thinking that Vashj/Savin/Haruka looks pretty effective.  Has the map been released yet?

I wanted to give everyone a list of all the trustworthy people who traded with me on this site, but it exceeds maximum character length. To me, that's a hopeful sign.

My guess would be 1 Vashj/Bulwark/Healer per 3 players.

    Cheers!

Paper here is Kael/Savin/X. I think Thangal is the most popular choice for X, although I was leaning towards Morganis.

Sarcastic remarks should come in a different color. Then the forums would be more interesting to look at.

We're thinking along the same track, although whereas I agree with Thangal, I think that Hodoon's +1 armor works better than BoW.

    I guarantee I'm playing Arugal.

Arugal, with ACTUAL GOOD CHARACTERS TO PROTECT HIM? OMGOOSES.

    Re: Looking Ahead to Vegas

Kael's biggest weakness I've ever exploited was his 0 armour, and Hodoon does little to improve that vs the might and majesty of Savin with Bulwark.

Kael and Savin+shield starts you off at a massive 20 honor, so anything you bring after that requires a detailed cost to benefit analysis.  For that, seek the professional advice of Roark Slader or the ever nay-saying BlakBlock. heh.

    Cheers!

I look forward to seeing you play that Arugal party.  Whisper me when you decide on which two characters you're bringing, and I'll repaint them as a Christmas present to you for delivering a perfect article on your last go.  It was exactly what I hoped to see after our discussion at Worlds.

    Cheers!

    Re: Looking Ahead to Vegas

I'm thinking you can do away with Bulwark altogether and run Hammer of Justice to set up for KT's Flamestrike, complemented by a Flash of Light to give him back some health.  Thangal plays Entangling Roots on anyone who doesn't have a ranged attack, and keeps Tranquility ready for whenever the field is clear of people who can end the channel.

I understand the lean towards Savin/Bulwark, but I think you can get the job done for less honor without incurring an inevitable Polymorph on the shield-toter.

As a side note, Ruby/Ojo'mon/Blindloc is an awesome 13 honor AoE blitz.

    Re: Looking Ahead to Vegas

I'm thinking Vashj/Savin/Ta'zo myself. Healing? What's that? Just give me massive DPS, Arcane Flux and a shot at tick + 1 every tick.

Playing this Jezbella team nonstop is starting to warp my playstyle, methinks. :P

I just like the idea that "What do I Polymorph?" has only bad answers. Polymorphing Vashj still leaves me with some decent DPS, Polymorphing Savin means I only got a *regular* Vashj and an other DPS engine running amock...

I'm betting that Vashj/Savin/Morova is as common as dirt.

    I don't like Morova.

    1) I'd rather play the Boots so Vashj is self-contained. Having to keep her next to Morova for her to be efficient seems... bad. Obviously if you play Morova you won't play Boots.

    2) Vashj/Savin/Ta'zo's optimal configuration is the line. Vashj/Savin/Morova's is a triangle, making it more susceptible to Flamestrike. Which is why I'd also love Ta'zo for the mirror. Massive AOE + potential tick up your team?

    3) Morova has range 2. Ta'zo has range 3, the same as Vashj. You don't have much mobility because of the Savin mana battery. Improved range is a must.

    4) Arcane Flux improves critting odds better than Mark of the Wild, plus you'll already be playing Wrath of Air anyway. Also, WoA improves your two magic users, instead of having to wait until it Recharges.

    Re: Looking Ahead to Vegas

A couple of points I question here:

    1) you're already playing wrath of air? How does that work? If you're playing boots + soulseeker, how are you playing wrath of air? And if you're not playing Soulseeker...you probably should be!

    2) I think it's very hard to make the case that having Arcane Flux on Tazo or Vashj is more powerful than having Mark of the Wild on Vashj.

    3) You're obviously right on a few points, such as the power of the tick up flamestrike, Morova's short range and the dangers of the triangle formation. But the Morova team has it's own advantages, such as being 3 honor less (with no boots), and not having one character (Tazo) that's a breeze to kill. Even with Bulwark, it matters - AOE's can kill Tazo in a heartbeat, whereas Morova isn't a weak link.

All that being said, I don't know which variant is better - I didn't say I thought Vashj + Morova was best; just that it was obvious and will be common.
