    Lady J and the zoo

I decided today to play around with lady j and her buddies.  I ran kaustron and ryno the short as they are what I have. I was wondering how they should be played tactically/positioning etc,  thanks in advance for those who decide to chip in.

You played the team just fine. You only problem is remembering to use protector, remembering to add 1 atk before the roll, and remembering to move the Piztog so he can clog up lanes for your opponent.

I looked at the report on Australia a second ago but it was not very well written.  What I got from it was that they did take the time to post board position pictures.

I also tried this team tonight.  Not used to playing with the team, but the game took a  really long time.  It was a close game versus HHT, mainly because of the low damage output of the pets, especially when you only hit 3 of your dice and he defends all 3.

Re: Lady J and the zoo

I tend to play my Jaina team with Elanna Starbreeze so that I have access to Master Tactician to help amp my damage when I need to, all my minis usually stay on the same tick and if not, it isn't hard to set up. The third mini varies, one week it was Vi'gor who was amazign but felt weird, the next it wa sRyno who was meh, and currently it's Elendril who, adjacent to Jaina and using Multi Shot on a Master Tact tick, gets quite nasty, especially with all the low armor charas running around out there now. 3t 10d two target beatdown? Yes please.

That's about as massive a fail as it gets..

Re: Lady J and the zoo

Elendrils crit can only affect a single defender even if he uses multishot.

    Elendril, 7, Alliance

    Night Elf Hunter—Marksmanship, 3A 1R 7H

    Wrathtide Longbow [T3R2-4P5] (Ranged)

[Crit]: Make a [P3] (Ranged) attack against a defender.

Trueshot Aura: Attack rolls of 3 are successful while Elendril and adjacent allies are attacking.

Didn't read the version in the ocr, was going off of what it said on the card, made sense that it would affect multiple defenders that way. Even so, it's still powerful, not much less effective.

Re: Lady J and the zoo

UDE has swung the nerf bat and the zoo animals are in lockdown and can't come back out to play with the new hunter ABC viper sting teamed with multi-shot. Lady Jaina's Zoo has been wrecked and will become prehistoric like the Tyrannasaurus Rex.

    Cheers

    Does not work.
Also, while Lady Jaina and friends perform at their best with pets on board, the pets aren't necessary and the party can still hold its own without them.

mana tap and vipersting.. a combo that keeps your oppenents from using their ABC's.. Arcane blast will probably see play now as well as characters with "on card debuff removal" a lot more

It's not a card but an ability for Champion Shadowsun.  Quoted from WOWMinisDB.net

    Mana TapTicks 2  Range 2

Target enemy exhausts 1 of its Action Bar cards. All Blood elf allies may play this ability.

You use that with another Blood Elf like Conqueror Aluna and you can tap most of their ABCs and keep them from ever getting used.

I don't know if it's the death of the Zoo, but it's definately something they have to watch out for.

Re: Lady J and the zoo

I don't think Viper Sting / Mana Tap is a serious threat to Jaina Zoo. First, it's a debuff. What that means is that you won't want to kill whoever you're putting this on prior to tick 11 (and with Jaina, maybe not even after that, since you want to turn off GWE shenanigans). Second, Mana Tap? It's 2 range. Unless there's a Blood Elf Warrior I don't know about playing Breakthrough, there's almost no way you're getting in 2 range of Kaustron or Jaina with pets blocking your way (and yes, I know they don't block you walking through them, but having a bunch of them two deep stops you from moving in range).

Putting Viper Sting on Kaustron just means you're safe from having him cast a pet just to have a double pet team up on the same turn (since they won't want to waste a pet card that won't ready back). Unless you take time to kill the pet, or kill Kaustron (in which case he loses the debuff), that's not going to put much of a damper on him.

On the flipside, it's a decent answer to Goblin Fog, and the threat of it showing in sideboards will stop ME from trying to top 8 with the Goblin again. :)

I too have the same idea to run Elanna Starbreeze due to Master Tactician. Will be trying out in this weekend battlegrounds.

Do tell me how well it went for you?
