DMF: SanFran. Friday Night Qualifier Update
I havent seen much in the way of coverage in regard to mini's so I thought I'd post a little to tide everyone over.
The first qualifier was constructed and had about 46 people which were split into 2 flights one of 24 people and the other of 22 (I believe).
After round four there were three 4-0 parties between the two flights:
flight 1: 1st - Amalar, Morganis, Wilton (4-0) 2nd - 3xKiala (4-0)
flight 2: 1st - Elendril, Moonshadow, Dizdemona (4-0)
I also went abound during the final round and wrote down what each figures were being played. So, I basically have all the 3-1 and 2-2 teams and can post them in the absence of any real coverage, or if you beg me haha.
Remember that some people were still playing in sealed during this qualifier.

Re: DMF: SanFran. Friday Night Qualifier Update
YOu know sometime when you are bored, I would love to see what was played. If you just post the teams, I'll do a meta breakdown of it all.

Re: DMF: SanFran. Friday Night Qualifier Update
Out of this list, I'll have to root for Nicole Berman for making my favorite 2x Azarak successful (although I still prefer Daxin over Morg in the 3rd spot).

Ms Nicole Berman changed her finals squad to include Daxin! Now she just has to represent. I'm rooting for you.

Re: DMF: SanFran. Friday Night Qualifier Update
Wow, I can't believe he left out my 4-0 team from the first Qualifier, lol, hater.
Moonshadow Dizdemona Elendril
Garbage, but it worked. Similar to Corle's range strategy, but 2 more honor. Top 16 with this on Sunday, too.

What are the ABCs for that team, Majestic? It looks interesting.

Re: DMF: SanFran. Friday Night Qualifier Update
Elendril (MVP)
Hunter's Mark Call Fury Multi-Shot (changed to Arcane Shot for the Championship after seeing more Pallys)
Moonshadow
Bear Form Entangling Roots Starfire
Dizdemona
Fear Corruption Summon Santuria
It is surprisingly versatile, and I usually just stayed back and shot while they moved forward. Elendirl's Aura along with Hunter's Mark meant that my base attacks were hitting almost 5 hits per attack, and Elendril was a Kiala killer if he hits his crit. I lost in the Top 12 (was down to 12 players, not 16) a very close match to a 3x Kiala when a 2 health Kiala managed to survive a Moonshadow Bear Form attack, followed up with a Fury claw attack (9 dice + hill re-roll), which meant his Santuria lives and gets to tick up Elendril, and more importantly, he got a VP point. Oh, well.

Re: DMF: SanFran. Friday Night Qualifier Update
Corles been playing Elendril Moonshadow other for a long time. Trust me when I say hes tried every kneebiter, half pint, pointy-eared pink skin teammate the alliance has to offer for that other slot. So if by 'give some love' you mean appreciate the characters then yes he does. If you mean 'give me some credit for the team' then I think you might be waiting awhile.

I was just going to say, "dont hold your breath." DClown makes it sound like Corle thinks he owns all Moonshadow/Elendril/X parties.
And, DC, if that wasnt the intent of your post, I'm sorry for taking it that way.
Cheers!

Re: DMF: SanFran. Friday Night Qualifier Update
I guess internet isn't the best way to relay tone, but I said that tongue-in-cheek. But since you brought it up, I could also say I have had the paperclip idea long before it came out, but the person who got credit is the one who actually came out with it. Usually it's the first time something is documented (in a big tournament, nonetheless) that gets the credit, not just "talking." Now, if he played it in some other major tournament that is documented, then I have egg on my face, lol.
So, for the HHT army, I have Conrad Jackson etched in my head as the player who played it first, since he played (and won) at the first "major" tournament in Rochester. Other people can claim they have had that "as soon as the game hit development!" but for me, Conrad = HHT.
I'm not saying Corle and you guys did not come up with it earlier, keep that in mind, but I would say that I am the first to play it outside of the kitchen table, you know what I mean?

Re: DMF: SanFran. Friday Night Qualifier Update
DClown makes it sound like Corle thinks he owns all Moonshadow/Elendril/X parties.
Whoa, I feel that that was a little uncalled for. I did not say THAT in any way so I'd appreciate it if you discontinue creating sensational strawmen of mine and others positions just for the sake of attention. I'm uncomfortible speaking for others, and the only information I've presented is information I've been present for. Corle has been playing Moonshadow/Elendril/x at our local constructed tournaments for quite awhile now. Clean, factual information without attributation of intentional slight, or motives unbecoming a decent human being.

Re: DMF: SanFran. Friday Night Qualifier Update
Now, if he played it in some other major tournament that is documented, then I have egg on my face, lol.
Unfortunately magestic, every single individual has a completely different set of criteria for when and where a deck or band came together and who deserves credit and how much credit they deserve. In a limited field of available cards original ideas are bound to be duplicated. Heres the bottom line. An individual can only describe how THEY came up with the band idea, not where it was originally presented for the first time ever in our universe, not where any one of the potentially thousand others who also came up with the band are in their own evolutions, and not about any potential individuals who might originally happen on the list in the near future.
Given that, individuals who want 'credit' for a list tend to come off as people who can't do well enough actually playing the game in big news events to gain noterity but want special attention or recognition of their creativity. I find myself a much happier individual if I live by the phrase 'In collectible games there is no such thing as an original idea'. Of course the idea had to start somewhere, somebody somewhere had to come up with it first, but chances are it was probably a playtester or a designer, or a 10 yr old kid talking to his friends at a kitchen table. "How about xyz?" Throw enough restrictions on there and there will be a thousand different people all wanting credit for the band. The first guy to do well with the list in a major coveraged tournament held inside the US, on a day that began with the letter S. The first girl to do well with the list outside the US on a day that was raining. Your conditions for people who deserve credit for a band concept may sound more reasonable, but strike me as no less arbitrary.
I guess I'm trying to say don't take it as a slight if you don't get mentioned. Its not because your idea was stolen and presented as original though duplicitous intent.

Re: DMF: SanFran. Friday Night Qualifier Update
Pretty sure you are all lying through your teeth.
I was the first person to EVER play those characters--even playtesters didn't get to see that combo until after the game came out.
On a more serious note, send me a PM with your contact info patrick. Thinking I may head to Charlotte after all, and wondering if your offer the other night still stands. =)
